The bass that shall remain nameless. When you did that one of mine it turned out "amazing" . I really like the coil tapping feature on that one. You're right about the wood, as it seasons the frets move around a bit. The one you did for sounds just great and i haven't explored all the tones that are living in that instrument. Thanks for all do. Love your work Johnny.

That was a fabulous performance! The tones. The styles. The accuracy. The articulation.. It don't get no better than this! What a thrill! I love,, jazz. I've recorded a ton of it. I love FUNK. I have never recorded enough of it. Which is strange. Since I'm from Detroit, originally. In the 50s & 60s. And my daddy played violin tracks for them. At Motown. I grew up in the studios. At the TV and radio stations also. I have produced an engineered, over 30 years of live, FM & TV broadcasts and recordings for later release. On assorted, 24 track recorders of both analog and now, numerous digital variety versions and types. That have gone from 2 inch, analog tape. To that of, digital tape. Later to,, multitrack hard disk recorders. Then just, into the computer. Leaving those, decade plus old, hard disk recorders as,, redundant backup. As in, redundant capture times two. Plus always a live,, 2 channel stereo feed. With all its faults and foibles, inaccuracies, buzzes, clicks, pops, errors. But always still a homerun. Because no matter what goes wrong beneath my fingertips. I got up to, three sometimes 10 million listeners and/or viewers. Tuned in on the satellite feed. From what I'm doing. Live. Without a test. Without a rehearsal. Just making sure everything is plugged in. Before they start. And I'm off! Mixing bands I've never really heard nor listened to, before. It's funny. It's wild. You've got to have some kahunas to do that kind of work. Mine are virtual. I'm a bad ass lady sound engineer! That is to work for a major American TV network for, 20 years. Also. That's, also. Other than the 30 and my music and commercial production pursuits in the, private commercial sector. I love and am thrilled. Every time I get to record, a Bass, Artist.. A pure, Artist. Like yourself. And I have recorded, quite the few. All top.. All touring with major artists. All on major albums. All with the best sounding axes. And no ass shaking on stage! They just get down to business. To get down, to business. And no bullshit.. Just like you! You are the real deal, Sir! I know what I'm talking about! And it would be both my pleasure and my honor. Should I ever have the opportunity to record the likes of you. I too am no fake. I'm a history making, 4 time major music award nominee. Along and ended fish into my 20 years spent with, NBC-TV & Radio Network. As a Senior Audio Engineer. Now that funky, Taiwanese,, bass guitar you got. That shall remain, nameless? Why? So what is it? Fender Squire? What's the Gibson equivalent? I forget? Ibanez? I like Ibanez! Every guy that ever came into my studio that had a great sounding bass guitar. I always ask them what they had. They would tell me just this cheap thing. Called, an, Ibanez.. I like those. I don't have any problem with those. They record great! They sound terrific! Especially in the hands of an artists. Such as yourself. I have equally recorded decades worth of, really awful, rock band, bass guitarist wannabes. That mostly sound like WOOFING Mud. What the hell is that?!?! My thought was always. How the hell is that supposed to get onto, vinyl? WOOF! And you have to castrate the bass guitar. And cut off all its, low frequencies. To get it onto, vinyl! Now we don't gotta care about such, frivolity's anymore. Because everything is crappy compressed digital. The skies the limit! Until your signal is up in smoke. Which was a movie by, Cheech and Chong. May God rest their souls when they are dead! Because this business runs on, purebred cultivated marijuana! And their movies have come true! Oh my God! Hold on while I have another toke. I can see clearly now.. The rain has gone. I can see all obstacles in my way. And… Ouch! RemyRAD

Facts American made is a marking tool
@petesmith64342 жыл бұрын
When one purchases Chinese-made products a portion of the purchase price is used by the communist Chinese government to strengthen and build its military…which they use to threaten the US and the free world. There are American and European companies that make great basses and when one buys them none of the cost is going to China military buildup! Buy American and free-world products!
@johnhurd32572 жыл бұрын
@@iamLexxKelsey a marketing ploy, yes.
@SrChalice2 жыл бұрын
@@iamLexxKelsey that is false, especially since I've worked in marketing for the last 20 years. American made isn't necessarily better than anything else but it means something and it still does. One of the best made in America item isn't even made by an American company. The Toyota tundra is made in America and has 82% American parts which no other actual American company can say. Yes china makes good products, but for the most part there are a lot of cheap knockoffs like this bass he's showing. As good as the Chinese are at making products, they are also very good at ripping off other products and they are soulless. You can get anything made anywhere doesn't mean it's bad or good because of where it's made, it's a little bit more deeper than that. But Chinese products for the most part are garbage knock offs. Indonesia, Malaysia & vietnam makes excellent products and are less likely to sell you garbage knockoffs. But if you want a good custom Bass Latin America have some awesome Luthiers that will make you anything better than what a overpriced company like Warwick/Alembic will charge you. Latin Americans also have access to some crazy exotic woods

Man, that sounds awesome Johnny. I have an Aria Pro II "The Cat Bass" which is an '86 model (one of the last made in Japan, before the company was forced to move manufacturing to Korea and China) which I bought new back in early '87 from the Sam Ash store on Queens Blvd., NYC. I am thinking of having her looked over and anything that can be done to her to optimize her get done. I have no plans to ever sell her because of sentimental memories and the fact that she is one of the last Aria's directly connected to Japan. I may need to call The Hobo Depot. Currently I am near Tulsa, OK.
@trappenweisseguy272 жыл бұрын
Be careful with the pickup. They were potted in epoxy, which fails over time. I believe Curtis Novak is the only one out there who can deal with this issue. Even the head man at Aria is grateful about this because the company itself cannot repair the pups.
