Great review and video! The tyaughton seems very similar to my chromag rootdown.. both extremely capable bikes.

Thanks! They're super similar on paper too besides the rear wheel spacing. I'm thrilled with the capability of this generation and style of hardtail

I own a size medium firebird at 6'1 the geometry is very similar to a medium in that knolly hardtail bike. Trying to figure out whether to go with a size medium or large. The large has a 495mm reach which is insanely long. Thinking I could get a similar feel with a MD with a 50mm stem

I think that'd come down to how long and fast vs playful and nimble you want the hardtail to feel. I definitely don't think you'd feel cramped on a medium, especially with a 50mm stem. The 50mm stem on the medium might be a really nice setup to bridge the gap without going fully into the Looong reach on the large size, and you still maintain some playful maneuverability vs the crazy long planted-ness on the large. I feel dead on in the middle of the size range for the medium at 5'10", but also definitely feel like it's a long bike generally.

Hi good day greetings from Australia, I’m looking into getting the frame and just seeking real world review in terms of height and size frame I’m 173cm 5/7ft with short legs but relatively just long reach I’m wondering if medium would be too long for me? or just go for the small? Your reply and suggestion would be much appreciated, by the way new subscriber here now.. Thank you in advance ..🤙🏽

I think a medium would still suit you. I think for your height I would only favor going smaller if you really really want something super maneuverable, vs more stable. I do feel like even being 178 cm this bike is slightly harder to manual. But it never feels long to me otherwise. It feels spot on and like I'd still choose this size even if I was slightly shorter.
