Thanks for this! I'm super interested in this and also have a Tyaughton. Looks like a really cool bike!

I feel the same way between my short travel and long travel trail bike, on the blue and black trails feels much faster on the shorter travel then longer travel bike. Only the double black or really chunky trails does the long travel bike feels faster.

👊Yay! another who's obsessed with a Canadian brand (RSD Wildcat, Knolly Warden, and Chromag Rootdown here) in the area. I get ragged on for my Canadian quiver hah. The RSD (125/140) is my daily rig unless I know it'll be a chunky ride or North Shore.

Thank-you for the extensive feedback. I have been on Knolly's since 2007. Two original Delirium-T's, one bought that I broke and the warranty replacement, then the updated Delirium T, the last model 26 Endorphin, a 2nd gen Podium that I still ride with a 27.5 front wheel (Actually Noel's personal final prototype - exactly the same as production except mine does not have the fancy finish on the Ti bits) and finally a Fugitive LT. I want a new one, but more travel, to help with trips that are a bit much for the Fugi, (Just turned 60, so more travel for insurance is not a bad thing) but not enough for the Podium - so thinking Chili 155. However my area is flat and gently rolling forest, (SW Ontario) so more suitable for a new Fugi 140. No local dealer, so no test rides to see if I could get along with the more winch and plummet geo style of the Chili. Decisions, Decisions. Thank-you again, and Good riding to you.

I would lean towards the fugitive 140! I love my Chilcotin but if I didn't have access to the really chunky scary stuff that is ALSO kind of winch and then drop style riding I would definitely feel over biked on the chilcotin. There are some big jump trails that are a little flatter where I actually can only clear lines on the fugitive. I'm sure better riders could make up for the extra squish, but I prefer the pop of the fugitive and it tires me out way less on more undulating terrain. But my Chilcotin is built pretty heavy at 37lbs /16.8kg. I would look hard at the fugitive 140 and run a 160 front fork like a lyric if I could only have 1. Have fun!

@@AnAverageRider I think you are correct that the Fugi 140 would be the best bet. The Chili 155 would probably be too much bike at this point in my life for general riding, however it is nice to have a bit more bike for when your brain writes cheques that your body can no longer cash. Cheers!
