I just made this beanie for an adult with a mini Pom Pom hanging off the top. Thank you for the amazing tutorial again❤

Hi Margaret (,Daisy From Australia) I have watched all your videos on the Addi machines. You Inspired me to buy one, I knit for Charity and decided to but the king size . to make hats for adults on it. I Make crochet baby blankets and I knit heaps of baby items as well. The machine came yesterday. but it was faulty and you could tell it had been used. I bought it as a new item. so disappointed there. Any way the shop are sending me a new one. and they are paying the return postage. I have learned heaps from you and I just wanted to say thanks for your fun Videos . just have to work out Australian yarns to use on it now :) daisy :)

Glad to know the shop made it right! Aussie Julie Greenfield is on several of the Addi Facebook groups and is very Addi-knowledgeable. I'm sure she'll have so great recommendations. (I know she's on "Addi King Loomers and Knits" but not sure what else.)

Great tutorial. Every time you do an Addi tutorial I’m thinking I really need one! I’ve been contemplating for two years! I think that should tell me something. Your last tutorial for premie hats really got me going. I’ve crocheted 31 so far. Now I just need to find a hospital that is willing to take them. Thanks for the incentive, I have really been using up some of my yarn.
@margaret.olander5 жыл бұрын
Wow! 31! And when you find that hospital, you can then get an Addi and keep that hospital supplied!!

You should try your local hospital. I work for one and they take donations.

Saw this and thought I'd share. A tool to use with the Addi machines. Krankie, a tool you use with a hand drill makes fast work of cranking. Hoping you and yours are well.

Yeah... the Krankie has been around for a while. Some have had issues. I've heard they're not selling them anymore.

Hi! In your opinion, the size of the machine's needles is equivalent to what size of conventional knitting needle? Thank you
@margaret.olander4 жыл бұрын
Oh dear... Ummm... well... it's hard to say since gauge is such an issue and I explain how it varies on these machines in this video: Addi Express FAQs, Tips, Explanations! kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqKQZ2qtqNmKpbM

These hats are adorable. I am new Addi King owner. Would this work for a child size? Need more needles for cord? Love your videos.
@margaret.olander4 жыл бұрын
Of course! Just as I said in the video, use your favorite hat pattern and just put the cord on one end! 3 seems to the be magic number for the cord but you could certainly experiment and see what happens when you try more needles.

Margret, I’m trying to find your post with the “recipe” for hat sizes from newborn to adult. I’m having trouble finding it. I used to have it saved but have somehow lost it...
@margaret.olander5 жыл бұрын
You should be able to Google “sheepishly sharing hat sizing chart” and it should take you right to it. I’m not in a position where I can find the link just this moment!

Hi Margaret. This is cookie.. Would you tell me if I need to clean or oil my Addi king after it's 4-5 years old? It doesn't want to knit with number 4 yarn anymore. No kind of number 4 yarn, that is........it sounds like a machine gun if I try to knit number 4 yarn! But, once in a while,, it does knit #4.....yikes! I always used it for charity hats before using #4 yarn, a lot!. What happened? Any help would be appreciated.

Oh goodness, Cookie... It's hard for me to say! I don't think it could hurt to do some routine maintenance.

How do I do this on a 46 pin machine for an adult hat?
@margaret.olander2 жыл бұрын
Same way. Simply put, this is a drawstring-closure hat (basic Addi hat) using 3 of the stitches to form an icord. I show you have to close it in the video.

I really admire what you can do with the Addi knitting machine. I purchased the 22 and 46 needle Addi machines. I also first purchased the pink machine with the flower on the front of the machine. I’m enjoying using all three of the machines. Thanks to your videos I have been very patient with them and treat them very gently. Since the recent lockdown because of the coronavirus I have made quite a collection of hats for donation. Finally I am getting to my question for you. I have a pretty normal size head and find the 46 needle Addi machine hats are still a bit snug on me. I’d like to make men’s hats but I’m afraid they will not fit. Do you find the same thing or can I do something to make the hat larger? Sorry this comment is so long.
