That was a massive amount of help. After trying to figure it out on my own, I just couldn’t get it right, but knew there had to be a logical way to do this. With your help, I got it on the first try. Perfect 90 degree angle! I now have my sanity back. Thank you so much!

You're welcome! It seems like it should be so easy to get the correct bend, but becomes Rubik's cube.

Thank you for your explanation!!! I watched 4 other videos and could not understand how to make a right angle - as the videos were way too complicated. Thanks to your video and your clear concise articulation of the nuances and steps, I was able to make a 90° angle!!!

You saved me -- I'd been staring and adjusting and just couldn't get the venting to work at a strange angle from my range/fan-hood. The tape tricks were brilliant
@lakermark20064 ай бұрын
ive never worked with these before and when i picked up my order, i thought they gave me the wrong piece (because it was straight). now it all makes sense, sheesh, i was going to bend these into a 90 degree angle before watching this video

The resulting angle here will be a sharper turn (closer to 90 degrees) than the desired 45 degree angle. To get a 45 degree angle, you want to rotate by about a third of a turn (rather than a quarter turn as instructed here).

Good for showing you the best way to make a smoothest 45% Well near the end the math and the explanation gets convoluted and would be better if the video was just chopped off at 3:15 All 3 make the angle each goes from 0 to 30% The middle one doesn't make the 90 it makes 30% the other 2 joints do not continue on they add 30% each also. 30+30+30= 90 The machine that stamps it out could just stamp out a few setting to make it a even better no brainer.

I was at Lowes walking down the isle when I noticed this duct elbow in a box sitting straight up. I thought for sec before I realized that it made sense to have them up for shipping purposes. I grab one and thought "it can't be that hard, a combination of twist and turns". Twenty five minutes later, I threw it in the box and said "I ain't got the time for this BS!

great video! I'm working with some old pipe not only on the bigger side (10") but used and a bit dirty; anything to use or NOT to use to lube it back up a bit? I take it WD-40 can't hurt to try?
@Know-How-Now4 жыл бұрын
It can't hurt, you could try some spray silicone too.

Where did you get your pipes?
@Know-How-Now5 жыл бұрын
Lowes, I used this elbow for a dryer vent that I changed from a plastic flexible one to a hard pipe. I made a video on how to do it, if you are interested: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGWnYnSBqsqKd8k

Yes I did watch the videos and it's not a flat plane 45 like I said so no she didn't
@danthewalsh6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it’s not perfectly flat. The relative rotations of the modules are alternated to create a slight zig-zagging path that ultimately gives the desired angle.

DO NOT WEAR GLOVES! they are sharp but ive done these barehand no problem. with gloves on im either using too much force or dirt gets trapped in between the seems. DO NOT WEAR GLOVES, go very slow if you are worried about cutting yourself
