Sadly with how most things are with Ele there's generally just a single flex spot in your utils. So yes, tehnically you are correct but, sadly, you tend to be more selfish so you can survive. #EleMain :(

@ other classes do the same or more with less. I’m not gonna argue with you that ele can’t do good things, but numbers and benchmarks and “pro” KZbinr vids don’t represent the game for majority of players. Ele is good in dedicated groups that focus on synergies and allow the class to shine, but that doesn’t always happen in a pug environment. Especially in CM pugs. I think most players can lvl 80 boost another class and have similar or better results. What ele does in damage, it lacks in almost everything else. No weapon swap, no boon strip, low barrier, low cc, low armor, low hp, abilities/boons/cc etc spread between 4 ability bars with their own individual cooldown, competing talents, low stability, low aegis, selfish dps with low utility, ele elite STILL disappears when mounting or entering water, mostly melee gameplay. There are tiny workarounds around a few of those things, but again, a lot more effort for the player. It’s a good class: I’ve done the entire game with mine, but I’m not disillusioned to its general weakness. Maybe it is broken. When I start seeing them in my cms instead of mesmers, necros, guardians, I’ll believe you.

Hey, I just wanted to tell everyone to not get discouraged by the rating, especially if you are a new player. If you like your spec's playstyle and are good at it, you can beat the vast majority of people on the lfg. The relative power of each build is also very dependant on your group composition, phase times, the specific fight you take it to and the respective game mode. Harbinger for example is an easy S tier in 99 and 98 CM. Anyway nice video Sil, putting holo in C tier is a crime lmao, but I understand your opinion :D No build can be for everyone and honestly, that's good.

I understand you want to move on from gw2 content creation, I also understand tierlists are highly subjective. What I dont understand is why bother making the video at all if you’re not even explaining why this or that is better, no mention of specific boons over others, no explanations on synergies, this video just felt rushed. Not trying to be mean, still watched and liked but I felt I had to make this point.

Power Tempest definitely deserves S tier >:( , i'd also swap Catalyst with Scourge on the boon dps tier list since Catalyst has insane boon generation and insane damage too, although Scourge has good utility the boons nor the damage can be compared with Catalyst (Herald sure still has an edge over it).

@SilhouetteGaming1 ye it doesn't have much cc but i dont think just that knocks it to A tier, it has a lot of great things going on for it (damage, burst, cleave, its ranged, healing from water traitline, ocasional might generation, rebound, and water ele is huge in some situations)

Healing builds in my opinion Tank as following: S: Chrono, Firebrand, Druid, Scourge (Has a reason to be here) A: Mechanist, Catalyst, Herald (has some flaw holding them from S tier) B: Tempest, Scrapper (Other things are just better) C: Reneagde, Willbender, Specter (I have yet to find these players) - Rest I don't know how viable they are. (I have not played these builds) I agree you placing DPS Mechanist to B tier but in my opinion it should be next to Scrapper. Basically my only disagreement is Heal Catalys being better than Heal Tempest.

Great video. There’s great resources on websites out there for builds, but they seem to have backed off on tier lists or clear ratings. I think that is a political decision, which I think is wrong. People should be able to look at something like this and clearly understand what works the best.

You know what, this seems fun. I wanna do my own tierlist but I will only rank things that I played. And I will rank them based on how much I enjoy them, so its not purely based on numbers, although high numbers obviously help. DPS: S+: Power Holo S: Condi Mech (Spear), Condi Willbender, Condi Harbinger, Power Catalyst A: Condi Holo, Power Dragonhunter, Power Vindicator, Condi Mech (P/P) B: Power Tempest, Condi Virt, Power Scrapper C: Condi Scourge, Power Reaper, Condi Chronomancer, Power Virt, Condi Tempest D: Condi Mirage For my reasonings, Power Holo is just too good in fractals with its burst damage, holo 2 is a great way to get swiftness which also helps in fractals. It looks flashly, and when it clicks, it clicks really well. And currently it is the build I play the closest to the benchmark DPS. (About 38-39k DPS in the golem with no stat infusions) Spear added some needed complexity to the P/P Condi Mech and it looks more flashy and does more DPS so that’s always a plus. I still use P/P CMech in fights that favor range like the Silent Surf and Deepstone fractals for example, but P/P is too boring imo. Condi Willbender is fast and does damage so why not. Without Harbinger I wouldnt play Necro at all, other specs are just not fun to me. Power Catalyst is special to me because I studied the hammer variant for like 5-6 hours straight at the golem, for a few days, and it clicked with me really well after that. To this day it is the build I studied the most (like study study, just at the golem, no encounters) with actual success at the end. With the same order of skills but doing them faster and better, I managed to get from 22k DPS to 36k DPS in the end, which tbh for hammer is really really good. Spear is even better than that. Condi Mirage is the opposite of Catalyst for me, in the sense that I tried it really hard after Virt and Chrono both didnt click at all for me, and Mirage like the others just didnt click at all. Mesmer in general to me is the worst class I played in this game after Necro which at least has Harbinger that I enjoy. I literally don’t enjoy anything Mesmer. I do somewhat decent damage with Virt (About 34k) but I have no idea what I am doing and its not fun. For boon supports I only play Condi Alac Mech, Condi Quick Harb, Condi Alac Tempest, and Power Quick Catalyst. Among those my favorite is probably Alac Mech followed by Quick Harb. Alac Mech is my fav because its also really good in Open World due to it having Ritualist gear. Having 26k health is insane to me as a boon DPS, and even with 50 stacks of essences in Convergences only brings it down to like 13k health which makes it really comfy to play. For heals I only ever tried Heal Tempest and I found healing in general as too stressful to enjoy so I kinda gave up on playing healers. I will also try Heal Mech at some point since I know Engi the best and kits are fun, but I am not really hopeful. Well that was kinda long but hopefully having this long of a comment is good for the YT algorithm or something :)

Maybe im just bad at it, i feel managing the heat mechanic alongside a fast pace rotation isnt ideal especially with hidden cooldowns of kits if you play a kit variation.

@@SilhouetteGaming1 I honestly think the heat mechanic makes it easier in some ways. You have a visual indication of where you are in your rotation. When you're almost full, time to leave holo mode. When you're under 100 heat, time to stop what you're doing and enter holo mode. The holo mode rotation is just 3, 4, auto, 3 and leave, but it's not a big loss to leave early if you're not confident about avoiding overheating.

I wouldnt say that holo cc is decent, its subpar at best you have elite, f1 and maybe mines, nothing else cc. but its not that hard to play and its pretty fun

@rgentry9 i tried to say that it was S tier if you have a good understanding of the class, but unlike some of the other DPS options it takes some fidelity in understanding engineer to get the most out of it. Power scrapper for instance has a similar bench without all of the extra knowledge requirements.

Don't get me wrong, I love Weaver and play it a ton, but it just brings nothing to the table. When it was top dps with easy rotation it was justifiable, but now ptempest is just straight better. More boon access, alac, way easier/faster/more CC. Weaver does dps. That's it. No utility lol. IMO they should make an alac mechanic based on "weaving" between elements. Like every time you swap elements you emit alac within X radius

With all due respect, but I think this is completely inaccurate. You recognized Virtuoso and Soulbeast as top builds correctly, the rest ranges just from ??? to "okay, I guess if you're considering that it's difficult/easy to play you can maaybe make the argument that..." Like, you put Herald in C Tier as a DPS build, despite it benching like 6k DPS lower than Power Holosmith and having very poor burst (comparatively). Tier Lists are inherently subjective, but you were still just flat out wrong on some things.

It's 100% accurate. I am a PUG and so are the large majority of the GW2 playerbase. Rem you are amongst a minority when it comes to your ability to play/understand this game, which is good for you, however just because there's a core guardian build that AFKs 30k dps doesn't mean I think it's good either. It's a balance between reward and effort. If the build is overly complex or inherently weird with animation cancels-- removal of auto attack bindings or so on its going to be judged negatively by me; because instead of a 5 minute build rundown you're looking at hours of practice in the golem room. If it's a build I can't learn on VG or Gorseval in a casual PUG Group it's going pretty low on the tier list. But hey- that's why people watch right; if I did everything dead on accurate to how you felt about them, you wouldn't have even commented!
