imo it's not loud enough with open baffles. i think long tubes and NPP is the perfect combo. just like stock with closed baffles, and loud as hell when wot. downside is the gas smell..

You are 100% correct. I just bought one. I put up a review on my page. It is fairly stiff to be a daily driver. It’s a true race car for the street. I’ve driven race cars. And this is one.

Coming from daily driving a Z71 pickup I’m use to stiff suspension, I also work at a Chevy dealership so I get to drive these cars often and when I drive them they feel like limousine. So if your use to driving a pickup or and suv with off-roading suspension u should be fine with the 1le suspension

Love the ZL1 1LE- I agree black is tuff to deal with (that's why I got white this time), and suspension is very stiff on this car but you get used to it. There is a back up camera on the ZL1 1LE and visibility isn't much of a problem. I've had a 2014 ZL1 and 2015 Vette Z06 before this car. I agree stock exhaust is lame on all ZL1s so I put headers on and kept stock dual mode exhaust- sounds great and I get a little HP boost (a little north of 600 HP at wheels on dyno with no other mods). Z06 seats were a problem, ZL1s not so much as car sits a bit higher, I'm a bigger guy too. Bottom line, this is a race car and sounds (with headers) like one and rides like one. The slick tires kick up rocks so wrap the car as soon as you get it. It'll hold any corner you want it to and is meant to be driven hard! If you want a loud daily driver, get a Mustang. Personally, I find the newer Mustang exhaust is like the old blue bottles- more bark than bite. They sound a bit obnoxious IMO. Headers on the ZL1 1 LE is almost NASCAR like sound IMO- great. Dual mode exhaust is a big asset as well.

Just bought a '21 ZL1 1LE and there is a rearview camera sitting on the back roof of the car so now you have full time view of the complete rear. Good upgrade by GM.

I have the exact same car but in jet black, I test drove it first, loved it and sold my Nissan GTR for it, way more engaging and more fun to drive ( not necessarily much faster than my GTR ) but I smile more. I will say this, for those that don’t want a race car, don’t get the 1LE package, it’s that simple, if you complain after buying it’s not for you, it’s obnoxious, aggressive and always ready for battle and that’s why I love it! The exhaust note definitely comes down to personal taste, I don’t mind it but for a bit more in performance and sound, I’m considering a better and lighter one. I don’t daily drive mine so the tires are fine, but people need to also realize the tires need to heat up completely in order to have maximum grip, wet weather is obviously a no, no along with the temps outside, anything below 30 degrees is another major issue, due to the fact that it will take forever for the tires to heat up, and cold weather will cause them to crack. If you aren’t swapping tires in the winter, she needs to hibernate until spring. Great video by the way.

@@JR-90 most high performance rear wheel drive cars aren’t for snowy city life, and for this car? aside from the stock tires being extreme summer tires, the front aero and side skirts will get killed in the snow, not to mention the ride height. Expecting to daily this car in a snowy city is an extremely bad idea, even with winter tires, you’d save money and peace of mind just buying a cheap FWD or AWD second car for snowy days. If you have snow off and on year round, don’t waste your money on this car unless you plan on removing the side skirts, front lip spoiler, canards, raising the ride height and swapping out the tires.

I got mine in the same configuration. 2022 ZL1 1LE. Black. I knew alot about this car before I got it, but most dealerships don't let folks take high performance cars...especially supercharged versions for test drives. So the first time I drove any Camaro was my 2022 ZL1 1LE the week before my birthday in October. I love this 6 speed manual transmission and im stoked to get a piece of history before all stick shifts are gone forever.

Nice review. My next Camaro is the ZL1 1LE. I currently own an '18 SS Mnual. I love it ! Exhaust topic... I have a 1SS so I don't have the exhaust package, one note, that's it. For me it was too quiet...especially for a manual, so, I had a pair of Flowmaster Super 10s put on in place of that gas tank sized muffler, the sound is Awesome !!! 1800- 2000 rpms sounds Badass !!! There will be some drone inside but, if ur like me...a V8 should be heard And felt inside the car as well.

I would go with AWE much better sounding exhaust! Deeper and throatier! Also very well made! And cheaper than the Corsa! I think the corsa system is too raspy and tinny sounding especially in the higher rpms!

@@vulcantuminello1127 I own a 1LE and I used to race professionally. Anyone who uses Ring times as a benchmark needs better information. There is no standard for setting “official times” on the ring so some times are set by writers, some by engineers, and some by professional racers. Then there’s the issue that manufacturers cheat all the time at the ring. I mean a Civic has a faster “official Ring time” than a Mercedes DTM and Pagani Zonda. Do you really think a Civic is quicker? (It’s not). I’ve watched the ZLE Ring videos many many times and the driver is very good and sets a great time. He’d be even faster if he got to do the tests again with the A10. The best benchmark I know to compare lap times is Lightning Lap…That is short of having back to back times set with a good professional driver like Randy Pobst.

@@j2j17 , I did get the data recorder option for $1300. The standard ZL1 model has the rear view camera mirror because its spoiler can hold the camera. The 1LE spoiler center stanchion is too narrow to hold a camera. It does have the back up camera mounted just above the license plate.

My current car is a manual 2017 2SS and I'm contemplating upgrading to the ZL1 or ZL1 1LE and not sure whether to get the manual or automatic and whether to get the regular ZL1 or the ZL1 1LE. The car is going to be a daily driver for me including driving in the snow in winter in Toronto Canada. Luckily we only get 4 or 5 snow storms in the whole winter.
