Kaitlin is a hero who saved 15 lives. After tragedy struck Sandy Hook Elementary on December 14, 2012, Kaitlin huddled her first graders, saving their lives. She recently founded Classes 4 Classes, whose mission is for every student in the United States to learn about compassion, caring, kindness, empathy and consideration. Kaitlin's selfless heroism on the day of the Newtown tragedy and her generosity with Classes 4 Classes serve as proof that through our actions we can #ChangeTheWorld.
Recorded at TEDxUMassAmherst 2014 on April 27, 2014 in Mahar Auditorium at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
