I have a prolem with my manual previa 2000 vvy 2,4 gasoline. In second gear give pulls and pulls and I have to increase the gas to stop doing , if not the car shakes like it is in wrong gear...please help

Helps start up...what about later down the road, where the actuator starts to make noise on cold starts?... Is that the improved start-ability? Being on lower-high (123460) mileage Toyota. I think this is bs. Mine started at 100k.

I’ve had my 2015 Toyota Corolla s for a couple years now and no engine problems whatsoever at 230,000km the dual VVT-I is as great as they make it sound my corolla having 132hp the power it creates around 4-5k RPM feels like a weak turbo like you can feel when it kicks in compared to no VVT-i

Agree, should be explained how it works technically like how the timing is adjusted, camshaft, rods, the actuators, etc.

@@CrisPBacon-zy6wh The answer is "computers do it". Toyota engineers figured out what valve timing is required for the different engine loads, engine speeds, and throttle positioning. This knowledge is mapped into the ECU. The specific details of advancing and retarding the engine events are a trade secret that won't be shared with the public.

Nice video. Question: a toyota engine 4.7 vs the same engine with vvti (lexus gx470 2004 vs 2006) were the VVTi makes diffrence? At low rpm or at high rpm? I think at very high rpm tge vvti change the timing specs to deliver more HP and torque so under 3500rpm are similar. What do you think? TKS

It is usually a life time ... doesn't need replacement ... unlike timing belt ... unless there is a major issue with the engine..and it is lubricated by engine oil ..

You probably won't have to replace the timing chain (seriously. those things are beefy AF.) but the tensioner can loosen after a while, causing some noise.

Don't you engineers think of anything besides benefits? Timing belt slips enough or chain jumps. Valve timing kicks in throwing off the ignition, things become too out of whack and BAM, engine parts, coolant, and oil all over the road.

They make these damn vvti sprockets in mexico and they fail, i just replaced an exhaust vvt on a 2010 rav4, luckily I did my labor so parts were only 400 with all the gaskets, dealer wanted 1500 estimated minimum because my car was out of warranty.

They delevoped the dual cams on the vvt, and the vvti is just a copy of others engine manufacturer and it's not that they develop vvt itself.

This technology makes sure you have to remove throttlebody and idle air control valve for every six months and clean them cuz this allow exhaust gas to your intake.

@NickoLps yep, correct. It's the same exact parts in Benz cars... I guess it's really Robert Bosch cross licensing everywhere. Unfortunately Bosch is the king of design for premature failures: A to Z junk... more parts, more labor 😂 These smart valve timing gears are known to cause rattles at startup (no oil pressure)
