Please, please make more of these tutorials. I have owned a KH860 and ribber for almost a week; I've watched lots of videos but your presentation style is far and away the easiest to follow. No one seems to do basic garment making tutorials for beginners where we can actually make something while following the tutorial; it would be so helpful.

which carriage is operated first per the punch card. My book said to knit a few rows before starting the lace card.

Jessi That is correct, you have to begin lace with knitting already on the machine, you can’t cast on and knit a few rows and then start lace as it will all go wrong, you need to have at least 15-20 rows of knitting before beginning lace and make sure the knitting is waited. 🙂

There is another method: whenever no needles are selected, then you use the main carriage.

It was one of the top of the line punchcard machines in 1988. Ypu can't buy Brother knitting machines anymore.

Thanks Had wondered if they were still around as I've had a little accident with mine, I dropped the carriage onto the bed and broke one of the side levers off it and took a chunk out of one of the gate peg blocks!
