He did politics to promote himself in Germany. It's all about that. It's not about peace.

He had now reason to promote himself. At the time of founding this orchestra in 1999 he was already famous as a genius musician for 40 years.

@ He used politics to promote his career since he arrived to Berlin. I am classical music fan from Israel, so I know him very well. He is Israeli of course. He moved to Berlin after falling out with the management of the Chicago Orchestra. The Americans did not tolerate his whims.

The most brave man in Germany at this point in history is MIchael Barenboim, the son of Daniel Baremboim. I am in awe of his humanity, courage and compassion. His example teaches us what it means to be a person who is "morally incorruptible" and to do the right thing no matter what! Listen to his interview on "Jung und Naiv" where he basically says everything that nobody dares to say since 15 months in this country. Thank you so much for sharing this very valuable documentary!

Great moment when Barenboim gave his acceptance speech for the Wolf Prize. Such COURAGE, coupled with musical genius is rare. Bravo Barenboim. A true humanitarian!!!

This was very moving. I am full of admiration for Maestro Barenboim and to these brave musicians. Making music cannot bring peace, but it is able to do something very profound, all the same. Thank you to all members of this orchestra and to the people who made this happen.

Daniel Barenboim is one of the world's greatest pianists and conductors who has sold out the Albert Hall many times. This orchestra is the best thing he ever did. It says everything about Israel that they have played in all the world's great concert halls except in Israel itself

Still this idea of an Arab-Israeli orchestra reflects the good will. Even if it is impossible it is still a thought in our brains. And as long we have thoughts we still exist. Without hope we will not exist any more.

A great man Barenboim and his friendship with Edward Said helped creating this marvelous orchestra trying to bind together the palestinians and the Israelis by music .And also to remove the wrong ideas about non cultured palestinians .Palestinians have a history a culture a music and they are very skilled .Why this hatred of palestinians ? i wonder why destroy a lovely people and steal their land.Try to live together this is the solution.

That idea sounds great, but sadly enough, is somehow fake. I met members of this orchestra about ten years ago. They told me that most of the orchestras members are Turkish or Spanish, because the money comes from these countries. Only few Palestinian or Israeli members. Still, a good idea, but after having a closer look, it is more a clever advertising stunt.
