A few months ago, I was speaking with Chris Moss who was super passionate about his latest motorcycle. After wrongly guessing the bike in question was perhaps a classic from yesteryear or a piece of Italian exotica, I nearly fell off my chair when Mossy said it was in fact a Honda NC750x.
So, with 20,000 miles over two years and two bikes, we invited Mossy onto the Knox channel to share his thoughts!

The best review I’ve ever heard about this bike I’ve got a 2015 Nc750x with standard transmission as they didn’t offer the dct here in Canada at the time. I absolutely enjoy riding it, I’ve found it to be a great all round machine, great for the daily commute regardless of traffic, great for highway jaunts especially with its 6 speed gear box and the fuel mileage is just fantastic. If I had to make a complaint it would be about the suspension, I was actually thinking about sourcing springs for the bike, but it’s a small complaint for me as I’m a slow rider It’s honestly the happiest I’ve been in the last couple decades with bikes as it’s the first bike that just feels effortless to drive and so practical I’ve been riding now for 39 years and this is a bike I always wanted but didn’t think was possible a mix practical and fun. @@dwightk.schrute3920 is the perfect bike for beginners, it has a low centre of gravity which will help you go through bends, is not weak but not excessively powerful, changing gears is so easy....just a click, I have my 750x for 2y now and I'm still amazed by it.

well said. I'd also call it pretty nippy in general, and by no means slow within a certain range. Our traffic here in Cape Town means slow defensive driving for day to day commuting, expecting the worst from cars and trucks as you do, and the NC has the power to get away from the potential hazards just fine (*touch wood.) I'm on a manual and keeping it upwards of 4k-5k rpm in 2nd & 3rd is plenty for me, and I still get the feeling that this engine isn't even trying, purposely detuned to stay within certain Japanese regulations, and is genuinely capable of so much more..its a looker too, I always say to people its not as fast as it looks 😄 Stay safe friend!

Perfect allegory of the current state of the media. Less than one percent of daily riders wheelie and do track days, 99% of people reporting on motorcycles do. This is the perfect bike for 99% and will always be dismissed by the media. I have its big brother the vfr1200x and both are the most underrated bikes for the 99%.

It's the Honda Accord of motorcycles, and I love it. I don't think I've ever seen an automotive review of a Honda Accord. Even though they might not be the cool or exciting answer to the motorcycle/car question; they are the correct answer. Regardless of what other people might think, the Accord/NC750x DCT will never disappoint you.

No, it’s not the perfect bike for 99%. Stick a passenger on and some luggage and it’s as limp as last weeks lettuce. A good percentage of bikers actually like a bike that’s capable AND exciting, not 1% as you think. This bike is so dull and soulless. Is that why YOU buy a bike ? if you want to go from A-B and be bored, get a car, loads of storage and comfortable. If you want to commute, get a Forza 350. If you like going slow get an Enfield, at least it has a retro vibe going for it.

I had a 1st Gen between 2013 and 2021, went through countless miles, and toured the country 5 times. This bike is a workhorse that carries you anywhere cheaply, safely, and reliably. DCT is like a drug-addiction ( a good one ) that grows into your bones if you do ride it for daily commute or everyday shopping or any other routine chores. I did 3 Scotland tours with this bike, each one lasted more than 2 weeks. The DCT box frees my mind and allows me to appreciate scenery while riding the bike, especially on those winding twisting yet beautiful B roads. Love this bike to bits, shame I had to sell mine due to job relocation, but I will get a new one as soon as I return to the UK. Take care everyone.

If Civic did 0 to 60 miles in under 4 seconds that is. I feel that a lot of people reading this will think that this bike has no power, when it absolutely does. With DCT you just drop 2 gears down and you've got all the power you need!

I've always respected the NC750. So efficient, so practical. If you actually use a motorcycle for regular daily transportation, this is one is going to be far better than most. As for Mossy, he could review a 50cc scooter and I would enjoy listening to his thoughts.

Just wanted to mention I chose DCT because I ride in a very dense, busy and aggressive city environment (NYC). I feel the US market terribly undervalues the ABS, and the DCT is very useful when there is so little room for error.

Well that's approximately 30,000 km which took me about 6 months and I never looked back this bike has been excellent and has been to an amazing amount of places in southeast Asia including a trip to mount Everest base camp in Tibet. And currently I have 257,000 km which is approximately 160,000 MI that have been trouble free and I've enjoyed every minute. I don't profess to be a professional rider but this machine ticks all my boxes whether it's on road or off-road. I don't feel shy when I talk to people about my bike because I really believe that Honda built a winner !!!

I have read a lot of reviews of this bike and this was one of if not the very best I've heard. The one thing that I don't hear a lot of people mentioning is the styling of this bike. Maybe I'm in the minority but I think that this a great looking bike to go with all of it's practicality that almost everyone mentions. The lines on the plastic bits flow nicely with all the other good stuff this bike has to offer. I would buy this bike for it's practicality over anything else but in my opinion it is no ugly duckling in the styling department either.

Terrific review! As a young (27) owner of the old 700X "diesel truck", I must say that it might not be the fastest or best looking bike, but I'll be damned if you find a more sensible, do-it-all machine. It's a big bike that you can ring out like a small one. It's a bike you can tour on comfortably, even if you're in college, or unemployed or whatnot because it just sips gas and has very long maintenance intervals. It's remarkable, I bought mine with 83K KM on the clock two and a half years ago and now at 125K I can happily report an absolute trouble-free 42K KM and I'm looking forward to many more miles in the saddle.

I've had my 2021 NC750x from new now for 1year, I've just come back from a Euro trip to to the Pyrenees from England, covering 2,800 mile I've done 15,600 mile in total. Sports bike and big adventure bike lovers (BMW 1200 / Africa twins) thought I'd be holding them back. 😂 If we went the wrong way I could turn my NC around where we was. they would have to go down the track to find a big area to spin it around. Yes the suspension is very average, but there is pluses and minuses everywhere. The best i got out of my NC is 94mpg UK gallons, the worst is 68mpg. The moral of this comment is, Don't buy a bike to impress others,buy a bike that suits YOU.

Almost every Sunday a group of BMWs and other 1000cc + bikes go out for a rather sporty ride on the beautiful and winding roads of central California. after my CBR1000rr 2019 was stolen I bought new 2021 NC750DCT, for the reason of upright and more relax riding. I thought like you, my buddy's will be waiting for me and the Harley rider on every intersection, turned out I was sitting on their tail (using + an -) no less far I was than I was on my CBR. yes, as Chris has stated it would be nice to have another 10HP and upgraded shocks. love the tank storage....

love the nc, but not the dct. the nc is everything a street/daily bike should be. comfy, nice sound, low torque, good fuel economy, not expensive. i love it, and don't care if a sport bike rider doesn't get that thing, sportbikes, like sport cars, are way to fast for street use, i prefer comfy over fast on the street.

@@donblub each to their own but not having yet tried a bike with DCT I still think that I will very likely like it for the same reason many others have stated in that it will leave me to just enjoy the ride without any concern for hitting the shift points in such an exacting manner. With some practice I feel that using the manual shift buttons will more than suffice when I want a bit more control in something like the twisties.

It's amazing isn't it, here's a guy who tests everything and when it comes to it he's bought a bike that does all a bike needs to do. It's a lesson maybe we should all learn from this, do we need 1000cc plus? I'm sure he sees it as a more relaxed ride because on that bike he has nothing to prove. Well done Mossey for being honest.

My bike (a BMW) has nearly 3 times the power of this bike. I am not interested in going on the track, and never use all the power on a public road. The NCX is a much more sensible bike for road use.

Excellent review. I've a 2020 nc750x. For the first months of ownership I thought I had made a mistake after the wheel lifting power of a 2019 sv650, until I realised I was actually enjoying riding for the sake of it again, travelling big distances to new places, and in reality was covering the ground faster 90% of the time, compared to my previous more powerful bike thanks to the NCs ease of use, tall gearing and deceptive thrust of the "cross plane," "half a Honda Jazz car engine" motor. It's def a unique offering in modern motorcycling, as it offers that effortless, tall geared, low reving thrust of an old school big capacity v8 sports car, or a big capacity air cooled cruiser, (or critics might say a 3L tdi car lol, but then what fast diesel car sounds like a Ducati 996?) with the excitement of a modern motorcycle frame to throw around corners and cut through through traffic. I've also come to wonder how I managed without the handy built in storage. It's nice to head away for a the weekend or long day trip without a rucksack or top box. Oh and not to mention with current fuel prices, getting 60-70mpg from travelling at a brisk pace isn't to be sniffed at. It's definitely getting under my skin. Strangely good looking lump also. The reasonable asking price for a new Japan built machine was also a factor in my purchase. As always not all perfect, could do with a basic adjustable taller screen, a belt or shaft drive and maybe another 5 or 10 bhp for when you're in the mood, but I've found a simple cheap slip on silencer adds a bit a more excitement at least, and turns it in into something that you can get a lot of sporting enjoyment from without the cost, risks (and guilt) of a modern supersports bike or 170bhp adventure bike, especially for younger riders.

I bloody love mossey, hes the best reviewer. I have this bike too and am gobsmacked he would ride one. I have had 47 bikes and this one is my all time favourite. I will be investigating new suspension. I ride mine in sport all the time and itaverages 80mpg, its quite shocking coming from a 35mpg ‘fast bike’

@@maxoukos yes it is. If i ride in regular mode the computer says 83mpg, not done a tank to tank work out just going off computer but incredibly frugal and eager in sport mode up to 90mph. Thereafter its progress rather than speed. But for the road more than adequate imo

My 2023 DCT is still a baby, and I am a sedate rider, and I average 80 m / us gallon, including a decent amount of highway riding. Cruise on smaller roads at 50 mph and you'll get 90. My biggest complaint is that filling the gas tank doesn't always get me over the $10 credit card minimum purchase out in the sticks, so I have to carry cash.

I owned the DCT version and still miss it. It was such a great motorcycle for touring the backroads and get lost into the scenery. Very useful advise regarding upgrading the suspension. Thanks for that. And I must agree, the tank storage is brilliant, still miss that as well. Now I must go to my garage to see if I can fit in another bike.

I am much the same as you @erikjblauw in that I too thought that the advice on the suspension and the tank storage were bang on. More manufacturers would do well to adopt moving the fuel tank down in the chassis to improve a bikes handling while at the same time creating a handy storage space that is right in front of the rider. I suspect that this bike would be nowhere near as nimble if the fuel tank was in the traditional position. Particularly for new riders the centre of gravity is so important on a bike and by moving the fuel tank to where Honda did it has undoubtedly helped with a new riders learning curve. Now I just need to find a used one that fits my budget which might be tough when I think of why would anyone want to rid themselves of this bike after riding it for awhile.

Excellent review and discussion about a fantastic bike BUT it's as if every reviewer rides it like it's *supposed* to be boring...and it's not! Second and third gear pull like a train and make twisty roads a total blast, even fourth gear on higher speed sweepers. It's a sedentary commuter bike if one chooses to ride it that way but it's also wonderfully sporty on crooked roads.

I often think people don't like to admit it's so good because it is so down on horse power compared to their pocket rocket. But for me, it's this inability to wheelie it, or get it to spit the rear end out that makes it so appealing. I love the fact you can pin the throttle open for more than just a few seconds before you are doing highly illegal speeds. I never feel threatened by the power on the NC, its got plenty for what I use. Anything more is not really necessary 99% of the time...

I have had a 21 model since November. Changing the ride-by-wire 'user' mode I found that the bike is at its best with max power, max torque, max engine braking and 3/4 rpm uplift on the DCT. This change makes if run fast and smooth. (In other words go from standard on 2,2,2,2 or sport on 3,1,3,4 to user on 3,2,3,3). It will make a great bike smoother yet sportier ! - The settings take a while to understand, but are well worth adjusting to suit your riding style or terrain !

Thanks for just about the best review of that bike I’ve ever seen. Even dealt with the street cred issue. 🤨 I’m an MT-10 owner and I love powering around the twisties. Such a fun bike! But I’d like one of these Hondas for quiet casual riding. The Yamaha is a rock band, and I’ve no place to turn for light jazz. I’m really thinking about getting one. Of course, I’d have to have a sticker made saying, “My other bike is an MT-10.” 😅

On overtaking on the NC750X vs a bike with double the power: 1 NC: come up behind traffic; see gap; twist throttle, DCT changes down 2 gears instantly; you have passed 2 Sports bike: see gap; change down 2 gears taking 2 seconds; accelerate much quicker but the NC was already these 2 seconds ahead of you

I reluctantly picked up my friends 2021 dct from a service for him as he'd broken his arm, and it's the worst thing I could have done. It's the first dct I've ridden, and after 10 minutes it was like using a dishwasher and I was thinking why should I have to change gear myself ever again? No it doesn't turn heads but if you want to do that get a Rocket or a Harley. I would love one now but can't bear to let go of my 1250RT and my fantastic CB500X which I've grown attached to. The wife won't entertain 3 bikes and I have no room in the shed anyway unfortunately! All I'd say is try one before you decide. It's not for everyone and my main criticism on my 60 minute ride was the wind protection was rubbish (maybe get a better after market screen?). Although it's a heavy bike it's got a low centre of gravity and handles lovely. All I'd say is unless you're seriously looking for a bike, don't try a dct because it's addictive!

Great video. Have 2020 dct and I have to say at 56 years old a new job with a killer commute and $425 a gal. For gas this IS the the perfect motorcycle. It's my 19th bike I've owned and I'm so glad I chose it. It's not a Fireblade and not a Supermoto but what a concept. All I've done is put a center stand, change the oil and ride it like I stole it. It's fun, fast enough to put yer eye out and the helmet/glove storage. Any bike is better than no bike and this one's a keeper.

Low center of gravity does not make any change to the fact that this is still heavy bike. Slightly too heavy. U feel it especially in the corners. Sometimes you have to move bike, park it. Should be lighter. But this is a lovely construction.

Owner of NC750X DCT (year 2020). Never regret! Ride smooth. No problem with electronic stuffs. Very economic (1 liter, 29 km). Simple settings for mode (manual by using flips or mode D, S1, S2 en S3). The higher the level, the more RPM. 54 horsepower sounds boring, but think about it first. A coach with 2 persons on it, pulled by 6 horses. Now, multiply with 9. Imagine that. Overall it is the best motorcycle for using living work, for touring, for motortouring to another country. What ever, riding on this motorbike is like having a Magic carpet.

Thanks for the video and Mossy's thoughts on the NC. This has come at the right time, just considering a used NC700X as a "soft-roader" bike! I know it's not designed for gravel/unpaved roads but that hasn't stopped owners putting 1000's of miles on the bike off-road! Its the frunk, the frugality and the DCT that has me interested in one of these.

Black.... or white? One.... or zero? Go.... or don't. What the guest points out here, and I am already a member of the choir / the converted as it were, is that the above questions are not always relevant. And that's a valid point, though not to many riders it's not. I bought a brand new 2013 Suzuki V-Strom DL650 AL3 in 2013. I cannot imagine a better all-round bike. When I started to get too much knuckle joint pain (on any bike, not just the Strom), I decided to forgo manual transmission, but I made an error, as I see it now, in my choice of alternative to the Strom. I bought a brand new 2018 Yamaha Tmax 530 DX. And it was a very expensive alternative to the Strom. 1.5 times the price. I have never liked the Tmax. It is in many respects a very impressive bike. Smooth, fast if you want (not for me, I want comfort), ridiculously easy to ride even in traffic with a passenger my own size and weight. However, I have hated the noise it makes in all rev ranges and the very, very high fuel consumption since the moment I bought it. I tried to get my money back a week after buying it, and the dealer offered me 1/2 what I had just paid. No joke. So, to the point... I almost certainly should have gone for an NC750X-DCT. Why? It is (sort of) the same bike as the Strom but with DCT (knuckle pain). It has less go, it has less breaking (Strom has double discs), but is probably on par apart form that. I am going to lose money when I change the Yamaha. Too bad. Cannot be helped. But I need something I can also commute on, though heavy traffic, when my back is too bad to use my usual Honda PCX150 to commute (70 miles round trip). I reckon, and this time around the cash stays in the bank until I have had a rental-test-ride for a week, this would be good as a "sensible compromise" for me. I rented the manual version of the 1st generation 750 after Honda upped it from 700. My wife got on the back. Not impressive, compared to the Strom, but a better all-rounder "big" bike than my Tmax, for sure, and when fuel use is considered... Would anyone who has commuted through traffic on the 750 DCT tell me what they think? Thanks all. EDIT. As my user name shows, I am in Japan. Lower road speeds than the UK by about 30%. I rarely, if ever, need a bike to exceed 100 KPH / 62 MPH. That is the legal motorway speed here, though many drivers and riders exceed it by about a quarter. 2-up with my lady wife, on a day-tour or weekend tour, with no desire to beat any Nurberg Ring times... This might be the thing I need.

I own one of these, but with the manual transmission. Its a really great bike. I've owned everything from a vintage Guzzi to new Gixxer and this one is one of my favorites. Its just so easy to use and get along with. Once you get used to having that frunk for a water bottle and gear, you'll never go back. It sounds much better than it needs to as well, with that 270 crank,

@@KnoxArmour I was excited to see a 2014 750S for a decent price, but soon found out the slipper clutch wasn't added until 2021. The 2014 I checked out has super-hard-clutch-lever pull. Had to pass on it. Can't be having my left hand cramp up all the time. Clutch control is a b#tch when that happens!

I love my NC. Got the same model as Mossie. Honda replaced my silencer under warranty as it was flaking paint too. Agree about the suspension - it's on my to do list. Otherwise this is probably the best bike I've owned in a long while. It is especially good at long days and motorway munching. A recent three day trip I was averaging 80mpg which given the current price of fuel is significant. I wish it was a few kilos lighter but the weight is low down so it is not a killer issue.

I have a 2012 with standard transmission. It’s heavily modified with Race Tech forks, Madstadd windshield, hard luggage, hand guards, EBC HH pads, Oxford heated grips and Givi engine guards. I didn’t feel the need to change the rear shock. It handles very well. It’s not exciting to ride but gets the job done in a super reliable way. When I want fun I have an MT-01, and a DR650 for the rough stuff, but if I could only have one bike it would be the NC700X.

Perfect review, well done! Sold my Ducati SuperSport 939 S last year to get a 2021 NC750X DCT. Such a great bike. It's not a hot italian lady (who can be pretty annoying at times). It's just like your best mate, you always have a good time with. After 25 years of riding different kinds of motorcycles, I really don't want or need anything else.

I'd like to think I'm unbiased, but I own an NC750x DCT. My first road bike was a Royal Enfield Himalayan and it was trash. I had the RE for about 6 months. The NC is the exact opposite of the RE in terms of build quality and refinement. I'm not above getting rid of a motorcycle if it's bad. I 100% agree with your review of the NC750x DCT.

I traded my BMW RT1100 for a 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan and bought a 2021 NC750xDCT a month later. I agree with you about the build quality and refinement. Still I enjoy both the bikes. I mostly drive 45-55 mph on country roads in TN, NC and GA. Both bikes have enough power for what I like to do, and they both fit my budget. Want to do more dirt road riding, and for me the R.E. is a perfect bike for that.

Spent a fortune on a Royal Enfield pre-Covid, and it was easily the most unreliable bike I’ve ever had! Maybe I had a bad example but it just could not handle rain without something or the other playing up. Lost a good chunk of money getting rid of it.

Spot-on! Riding means different things to different people, but...if taking her out for the day, weekend or week involves ACTUAL touring (you, know, seeing the actual sites, not saying like most writers, "...fantastic roads!" and then don't remember what is what like AROUND those roads), then this is the right tool for the job. You know you've fully escaped when the bike underneath you disappears and you get lost in the scenery. Nothing is wrong with that! Thanks for the honesty (again), Mossy!

I didn't know the channel and obviously this video caught my attention because I'm also a NC750X 2021 owner. I didn't quite understand who is your guest, I'm from Portugal, but I want to leave here my statment as an owner of an NC. I had never seen or heard a comment, about this bike, so but so correct, accurate, honest and competent. Everything your guest said is the greatest of truths, exactly what I feel and would say. All specialty channels, almost all compratives forget about this bike precisely because they don't understand it. Many "experts" seek for things that were not thought for this bike. The most common mistake is to think that this bike does not have enough power, just by reading numbers on paper. So wrong! I really appreciate it. Thank you very much Mr Chris Moss

Interesting and Mossey came to the same conclusion as me as regards the 2021 model concerning brakes and suspension in part. So I ordered the SBS pads: Front - SP - EVO SINTER Rear - LS - SINTER Also the Hyperpro fork springs and just the rear shock spring. Other mods: Honda Rack Honda Centre Stand Honda heated Grips Honda USB in Frunk Honda Optimate MRA Vario Touring Screen with deflector Side stand pad Handguards Tail Pack Tank Bag Hugger Fork protectors Front and rear mudguard extensions.

Considered this for years, but just could not sell my VFR800F to get this. Then the NT1100 was launched and was all that the NC750X is and then some. Sold. This type of bike is highly underrated for the riding most of us do.

I'm very much into cars of all types, old school American muscle, 80s/90s japanese weirdness, a fondness for Volkswagen for some reason, and cheap european beaters. And my friends and family know this, and they were all confused while I ranted and raved about maybe the best car made in the last decade. The Chevrolet Volt. It's not fast, or fun, or the cheapest vehicle out there. But it is/was immensely practical. It was a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) that wasn't trying to be different. They just made a good car, that happened to be a hybrid. They single handedly made the only sedatchback I actually liked. That's what this bike feels like to me. An immensely practical, commuter bike. Not trying to be anything other than that, there's a certain charm there, and I respect that.

Recently fitted the Hyperpro back shock and Hyperpro fork springs as Chris recommended…massive difference! Little or no drift in corners and can really push the bike now,even in not so well paved roads and the difference over sunken manhole covers is sublime!! Anyway looking forward to summer and a smooother ride. Pat

@@aldeztube It was the basic version with manual adjustment,works fine and a good deal cheaper that the top of the range one. But if you can go for the higher priced one ,it may make life a little easier But whichever one you choose it will make a big difference Aldez .

Nice one mossy. I've put 65k miles on a 2014 DCT model. They are brilliant. Even did a Lydden Hill track day on it and it was a hoot. No pressure at all as it's a slow bike so I just concentrated on having fun! Yss rear shock definitely helped, as did Road 5s. I can't ever see myself without one if I'm honest. It'd be the last bike I'd ever sell.

As an ex courier also, a CX500, GT550 and XJ900 were also not going to set the world on fire, but they were bikes that gave total confidence you would get to your destination, just add fuel. I dont ride for money anymore, but i can see why a bike like this works . Got a duff knee from the job, so weight is the only thing that bothers me.

Got a 2013 NC700X, travelled to Nuremburg on. Perfect did everything it needed to. One 30l dry bag on the rear rack and everything else packed in the cubbie hole. Yeah a few BHP would be good but it handled the autobahn with ease and kept up with my mate. Love it and so does my 13 year old lad.

I was interested in the NC750X when I saw it at my local dealership. Very good looking and a good price. The salesman said " It's so slow , it can't get out of it's own way". Ended up with a MT09 that I'm selling. A great machine, but the bike is always urging me to go faster and act like a hooligan. I am a relic from a bygone era, and currently looking at the Triumph Bonnevilles, Speed Twin and T-120. I want a bike that is refined and relaxed, yet still able to ride at a brisk pace. As I get older the superbikes sit more and my less powerful machines are getting more use. I will probably mostly use my heavily modded DR650 when riding with her.

I ride Japanese 2014 NC 700 SA - cannot say any better about it, than Chris did. It's an outstanding bike for commuting, however, yeah, sometimes you want some extra horses (older model had 48hP). The "diesel" mode, the predictability (throttle is very linear) - it's just perfect. Great review!

So many you see are done after the proverbial ‘spin around the block’ and, as Chris says, that doesn’t give you the true picture of a bike and what it’s like to live with long term. We’re so lucky in the range of bikes that are available to us now, but for the majority of people, outside of the track day superstars, bikes like this and the Yamaha MTs are affordable good all round bikes 👍

I just recently hired one to ride the North Coast 500. I was impressed with the Honda. Very comfortable and easy to ride. The bike feels lighter than it is with a low centre of gravity. I'm surprised they didn't mention that. Just look at how low they have managed to get the engine. I agree with everything Chris Moss said about it. The "tank" storage area is genius. You can even fit a full-face helmet in there.

@@BibtheBoulder Inverness Motorcycles. They are linked to Haggis Tours who offer a guided tour that includes the accommodations along the way. We just hired the bike along with some gear and planned our own route on our own schedule and found our own accommodations. Loved every second of it despite getting wet a couple of days. Make sure you get your lodging sorted before hand. Most of the route is sparsely populated and there are not many options when it comes hotels and inns, etc. so they get booked up.

I'm an expat Brit living in Mexico and recently retired. I bought a 2020 NC 750X DCT for local travel as well as touring medium to long distances. I previously worked in the US where I owned a BMW F800R which was a great bike for travelling around on decent roads but I decided to not bring it back into Mexico for one simple reason. It was technically too complicated and most maintenance required a visit to an expensive service shop. The thought of it breaking down in the middle of nowhere in Mexico had me looking for a much simpler bike. The NC doesn't have this problem. Most maintenance can be undertaken by anyone with reasonable mechanical skills and a simple array of tools. I'd never ridden a bike with an automatic gearbox before but after just a few miles in downtown stop/go traffic I was sold on it especially when riding with a pillion passenger. No more jolting crash helmets when continually changing gears. I can now forget all about having to change gears and just let the bike get on with things while I concentrate on watching where I'm going and who's around me. On the open road I do like the opportunity to place the drive in sport mode and get a bit of extra umph when taking corners or pulling up hills. The fuel economy is amazing which these days with continual increases in fuel prices is a big winner. I love the 'frunk' storage which holds an amazing amount of things. I put on a number of accessories, touring windscreen, SW.Motech crash bars and pannier racks with Trax side boxes. Also have a center stand and automatic chain oiler and am about to fit a PDM60 power distribution module to power my GPS Navigator and USB outlet ports. Some folks complain the seat is hard and tends to slide you forward but up to now I'm ok with mine. The only thing that I don't like about the bike is that when loaded up it feels a bit on the heavy side particularly if you need to push it from a standing position. Once I'm on it and riding the weight issue just disappears and it is very controllable and balanced even at very slow speeds. In short this is the bike for me and as Chris Moss stressed, its a bike I trust to get me where I am going with a minimum of fuss. Great video guys and it's nice to hear Chris's accent ! We share the same surname but no relation I am sure!

I bought my 2022 NC750X six months ago and just did my 8k valve check on it. I've been riding for 18 years and just came off of an FZ-07. I'm almost 40 and sitting on a sport bike all day or trying to take a long ride was becoming miserable. The NC750X is the most comfortable bike I've ever owned and gets insane mileage. The engine isn't lazy at all and the traction control hasn't let me down, even on trails that were probably out of this bike's league. I run Dunlop Mutant tires and don't have issues anywhere I go. The valve service was super easy, only required removal of the radiator to get to the valve cover. Oil changes are simple and everything is easy to reach, as are the spark plugs. My only complaints are that there aren't many good adventure/off-road focused tires in the 160 size - but again, the Dunlop Mutants are wonderful tires. I wouldn't mind having dual brake rotors up front and adjustable front suspension - I find the rear suspension to be adequate. For the price point and all the good things about it, I can easily overlook the cons. For someone who's only 5.5ft tall and 31-inch inseam, most adventure bikes are literally out of reach for me. I went to the shop to test ride a DL650 adventure but ended up leaving with the NC750X.

I so don't care about bikes that can wheelie, burn out, look like a transformer character or have 200 HP which you can’t at all use anyways. For me motorcycling is about enjoying the ride, the views on a (dare I say it) conformable machine THAT WON’T LET YOU DOWN. I had a friend who had a gorgeous Aprilia RSV4. After an hour, his wrists hurt, is bum was numb and he was partly deaf from it. Another friend who’s KTM 1290 drains his battery if he doesn’t put it on a tender every few days. Meanwhile on my old CB 650 I was happy as a peach. And now riding the VFR800 5th gen and a 22 year old bike is dependable as ever. I don’t get the whole LOOK AT ME and what i'm riding part of motorcycling. And I praise Honda for making a bike that is different and yes practical. Thanks for the review guys. Might just pop into my Honda dealer and try one. 😊

I have a U.S. version from 2017 which is a NC700X. I use it for daily commute of 30 miles round trip rain or shine. Very reliable, low maintenance, fast enough for open highways and narrow enough for lane filtering when those highways turn into parking lots. It’s also a smooth bike that I can ride all day on the weekends and still go grocery shopping with on the weekdays. It’s feels like a “SUV” of motorcycles to me. While the suspension could use some improvement, the only upgrade I spent money on was a taller Puig windscreen with a spoiler on top to reduce wind contact with my helmet. Excellent “Gets the job done” bike as the video interview mentions. Favorite feature is the “frunk” (front trunk). Combined with the top box in rear, I can get enough groceries to last a couple of days.

I had a 77 GL1000 that I loved, it was slow, reliable, and comfortable and I loved the tank box. This bike sounds like it checks off a lot of those boxes. The one thing I hated about the Goldwing was it got a consistent 37mpg US. This bike sounds like Honda did it right.

I’ve been riding my Son 750 NightHawk 1991 Honda and it has to be as smooth and comfortable, dependable , a joy to ride. Just does everything good. It has all the power you would ever need , even for two up. It is so quite , you have to dig if you want excitement. Of course my Son it’s second and takes past a hundred one one wheel switching gears, so it can be made to do things but it’s really just a comfortable ride that does everything. Every time I ride it I am pleasantly surprised. He has been restoring a cb900c 1980 10 speed. We bought it from a body shop , where it had been sitting since 1986. He has everything done but the paint. Seems like it is another great Honda ! So smooth and powerful. He rebuilt the carbs and sync them up. What a difference it makes to have the carbs working together. A fairing and I’ll be riding it until someone buys it out from under me. Honda just hit a home run on these cruisers. Even though they are older bikes and the 900 antique I would put it up to anything made today as far as riding goes it will beat most everything produced today ! You would think that progress would have over came these old bikes but the Truth is Save yourself money and find a good used Honda ! I am in my sixties and have owned motorcycles all my life and nothing beats either of these old bikes . Enjoy and remember it’s easy to pay to much. I am a Japanese in- line 4-fan. These. Motorcycles produced by Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki all are dependable fast and have something to suit everyone ! Happy Trials to You !

Very good review. I tolerated the poor suspension on my 2017 model for a few hundred miles and then forked out £700 for a Nitron shock. What a transformation ! Not sure about the front forks though, I don't think they are too bad. I also changed the seat foam and fitted adaptors to raise the front of the seat and I now have a a very comfortable and economic bike which I intend to keep for a long time. I've done the Fireblade, Blackbird, GSXR etc, all very good but not anything like as practical as the NC750X DCT.

I think with every bike the determining factor on whether or not you like the suspension and consequently the handling of the bike falls on how much the rider weighs. Someone who is close to 200 lbs is going to more than likely have a different feel of the bike than say someone who is only 150 lbs.

I have a honda Hawk gt, 56 hp and 64nm after tuning. Such a lovely trustfull bike. I'll never sell it. When a bike makes you smile and you can depend on it, who cares what someone else thinks.
