Yea, the "play" at the music awards was during the 2000 VMAs. He was performing the memorable "The Real Slim Shady" with all the "clones" walking into Radio City Music Hall. He walked down the isle getting cheered by many and gave dap to people including, ironically, Diddy and Jennifer Lopez. He saw Fred Durst and just gave him the cold shoulder when Fred reached out. It was weird then until this song came out and put it into perspective.

According to dilated they claim that they didn't know that the verse on ear drums pop was a diss at em which kinda seams like B.S. when shady was so big at the time and the verse has the lyrics spit a 380 at those that act shady.
