For the "no one even knows you" line from Skrillex, I always took it as people typically only know Mozart's for his music and not who he was as a person, I know in schools (at least the ones I went to) we were only taught about his music, I only learnt all the other stuff about him later on in life. Where as Skrillex is modern age and with social media and the internet people know a lot about celebrities lifestyles and scandals.

i don't think so. I think he meant in his time. It''s a well known misconception that he became famous only after his death (which is not true) and he was mostly a court composer so most of the regular people were not really aware of his work; Furthermore there were wars all over at this time and it doesn't help the spread of culture. Most of his fame came from word of mouth from the court reaching other courts and wealthy people. Compared to the billions who knows skrillex it's indeed "no one"

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but I'd say Skrillex's line of "I Attack, you Decay" would count as a double because yes it's the music theory stuff, but I think it could also be him saying something like "I'm still alive and going strong and everything while you're just there rotting in the ground". Also when Skrillex says "I'm a rockstar" is also accurate, as before doing Dubstep he was the lead vocalist of a Hardcore/Screamo band named From First to Last.
@michaelbell49302 жыл бұрын
It’s actually not just music theory either. The line is actually more about techniques in producing music. Yes, attack, decay, sustain, and release are used to quantify the playing of a note (like how sudden it stops, how long it goes, etc) but these are also used for sound design. Synthesizers actually let’s you fully control those parameters with knobs and what not. He’s essentially talking about *making* his own sounds immediately after Mozart says he only hits a space bar while also relating those terms like you said. He also mention “sidechain” which is making a sound duck in volume sharply for another element to be heard over it. That’s usually for drums to be heard in a mix and it’s more of a filler bar I think unless he means Mozart’s disses aren’t hitting or he’s “ducking” them.
@lordofninjas12 жыл бұрын
@@michaelbell4930 thank you for the explanation. I was aware that it wasn't exactly what I said, but I was unable to come up with a better term to describe it, which is why I said music theory. Thank you again.

I think the 'nobody even knows you' is in reference to the kids/teenagers that grew up on Skrillex and dubstep in general. Like, they may have heard his name but they're unlikely to have ever gone and looked up a Mozart composition to listen to if they're big into EDM. And as one of those people who hit their teenage years during the golden age of dubstep (2009-2012), I can confirm that I heard Skrillex well before I ever intentionally listened to a piece of Mozart's music.

@GBF freeloader That's what golden age means though? When something is at the height of its popularity/reach/power etc etc, that's it's golden age. That doesn't mean there can't ever be any good dubstep anymore, just that the scene since then has been much more dead in comparison.

Plus Q Bass could also played as "cue bass" as the bass comes on the screen.

I came back to rewatch this and see if I missed anything and I have to mention the dubstep is still a thing. Just check out the music on NCS. There is a whole Playlist of songs with the dubstep effect in them.

it's sad cause what most don't know is Skrillix was the singer to a band called "From First To Last". Amazing band. He medically started to lose his voice so he was replaced and he became the man we know today ✌

I think now that you’re getting into the ERB universe you need to get some knowledge of some of the reoccurring characters. Watch Chuck Norris vs. Abraham Lincoln.

You missed the "I'm a Prodigy Sonny, I'm about to smack a *itch up!" Which is The Prodigy (The Electronic Band) made the song "Smack my *itch Up". Thought I would just hit you up

I think that “no one even knows you” kinda also means like no one really remembers him. Me personally I basically completely forgot about Mozart.
