The correct combination is 75% Mali or Dutch and 25% pitbull. Or you can go for the 3/8 pitbull 5/8 Mali or Dutch cross. Basing a line of these percentages to each other. Getting the endurance, higher pain tolerance and stamina of the pitbull with the confirmation and control of the Shepard blood. Takes about 12-15yrs of select breeding to get a foundation though.

I wouldn't mind the cross and I have an APBT Working Shepherd cross but breed them back to working line German Shepherd for control. If you notice the puppy looks more like a Dutch Shepherd from the father because they breed them back. Adding the tenacity of the Pitbull is a good thing but the control intelligence and responsiveness a proper working line German Shepherd is critical to maintain

@@shockadellick hahaha. Yes, the size can be overwhelming. People forget that if they cannot control their dog that I can be extremely difficult to even walk a large dog. This is why training is so critica.l I always think it's very sad when people have strong dogs they can't even take on a walk. Soooo important to develop boundaries and structure with a dog

Interesting cross. Ever heard of the donovan pincher? Similar idea with much less proven dogs in the US. I’m curious as to what this cross brings to the table that a pure mal or dutchie does not? It is a beautiful dog for sure. I’ve always wished there was a smooth coated herder type dog out there.

I imagine that the hope was to get a dog that doesn't give up when seriously challenged. A good pitbull will never give up no matter how you try to intimidate or hurt him. In my experience every other breed will quit when things get seriously serious.

I'd appreciate if you could answer this question,since the GSD really is going down hill,would a bulldog cross work well in that breed? Nerves,aggression,health,durability these are things you don't see so much in most German shepherds anymore. Also what was lost in the cross? size? was dog aggression a problem? How about trainability and nose?

Working line German shepherds have retained their health. It is the show line and pet line German shepherds that are the problem. The thing is this, the German shepherd became the most popular breed in the world, as a result everybody and another started breeding them. When this phenomenon happens, people stop breeding purpose colour and beginning reading for popularity, looks, money. Right now most Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherds are still working dogs. There are show lines from each of these breeds that do not have the nerves as their working counterparts, & soon their health will follow the same downhill trajectory. The true working line German shepherd from breeders that are breeding for work still have good health and sound Minds for work. The Bulldog is one of the most unhealthy breeds so breeding the German Shepherd with a bulldog is a terrible idea. The best way to return the health of the show or pet line German Shepherd back to its Foundation is to breed it with its cousin breeds come at the Dutch and Belgian shepherds.. all these breeds are related, descending to from European Shepherd dogs and they were only split in the 1900s by the Kennel Club. In fact, most police and military Malinois and Dutch Shepherds you see DO have working line German Shepherd blood in them. The German Shepherd as size, bone, and strength. Breeders of show line German shepherds need to seriously reconsider with their breeding and stop breeding unhealthy dogs with terrible structure.

@@digs1223 for the record, the picture of the black dog, my dog, is an apbt German Shepherd cross. I think the appt works well when you mix with Malinois and German Shepherd 75% Shephard- & 25 apbt. Takes years of perfecting. Size is definitely lost and my cross my dog is 75lbs but the dog in this video looks shorter than my dog. I suspect that they ultimately bred his puppies back to Dutch Shepherd or Malinois

If a pit is bred right, there's no need for a cross. A well bred pit is highly intelligent, very responsive, super athletic, and has a very high pain tolerance hard to find them bred right though people have em to look bad ass and they are over bred in the US and bred with no good purpose. Also a well bred dutch or mal doesn't need a cross unless you want to up the pain tolerance. Decent idea. I'd like to see what they become in the future

Europeans and Africans humans have so much in common genetically comparing apples to apples may not be the same. Scientists, understand hybridization to be a mix of species typically producing sterile offspring like a mule. There is only one surviving human species, Homo sapiens. Dogs and wolves are even classified as one species now. Please don't take my post as being inflamitory in anyway. This is awful as a mix. Pitbulls have been proven to be mentally and temperamentally unstable and stubborn. Why ruin this breed with a degenerate of a dog that was used exclusively for fighting. If you're going to mix them, do it correctly with another working line type of dog that's been proven. Collectively there were 39 U.S. dog bite-related fatalities occurred in 2017. Despite being regulated in Military Housing areas and over 900 U.S. cities, pit bulls contributed to 74% (29) of these deaths, despite Pit bulls make up about 6.5% of the total U.S. dog population

What you don't understand is most working Malinois do have these genetics in them in addition to mastiff, working line German shepherd, and other breeds as well. But it's not the first generation that is coveted. It's the ones to come after. Takes 6 plus gens to perfect. The reality is that if you are getting an x herder, which is a working line Malinois or Dutch shepherd, if they come from knpv or Eastern euro lines, then yes they have alternate breeds in them. The ultimate result will be a dog that resembles the Dutch Shepherd or Malinois, but with a little bit more substance and larger heads. They will not be short and stumpy like this dog.

my point is that the Dutch shepherd is a beautiful strong shepherd. The pit bull is an amazing terrier. The two together are ugly. i have a Dutch Shepherd, a malspal (malinois spaniel ) and a sharbull (pit shar pei) but that pit dutchie mix is just ugleh. my malspal aint the best looking dog but she's an AMAZING fucking dog. she's just small 40 lbs :(

They probably have an unknown mixed dog and thought it looked like those two dogs together, as a lot of people seem to do. As a general rule if it sounds like a crazy mix, it usually isn't real. Think of shelters looking at a dog and taking a wild guess, like they do a lot :/ even when it's obviously not that mix..

This isn't new, the original KNPV dogs had Molosser added for instinct, prey drive and intelligence. Before this introduction the Malli was your typical herder...lots of energy but no intelligence
