I own a pit bull, you can just go by one, they are just gorgeous and amazing dogs. They are also the perfect snuggle partner. So dude, if you think you can keep care of it, and buy it good dog food with toys, go buy one. They are not that expensive

Mandi C exactly! Although it is not necessary to neuter or spay your dog, I have a Dutch Shepard knpv trained and he is not neutered or spayed. If you just keep an eye out on your dog when it is with other dogs and you are not going to breed with it it’s fine.

I have an amazing pit bull, he has protected me and saved my life more times than I can count. He is absolutely amazing. He works very hard, and he’s a fast learner. There is zero aggression with him, but if you were to hurt me, well my pit looks the same as this one. He’s great around kids, and they can do whatever they want to him, and he will do nothing back. This is not a false illusion though, if you hurt and abusive a pit bull they will lash back out. To be honest if you were to the same to me I would lash out. So it’s not the dogs fault, every dog is the same. It’s the owners fault.

Pit bulls are shit dogs for working purposes. I have worked in pit bull rescues but have a Dutchie and a Mal. Kitties are sweethearts and great family digs, but if you seriously think they’re great working dogs, you have no clue what a working dog is. Potties are far too inbred and unstable.

***** No, they are NOT seen in real work venues except for an occasional oddity, unless you call hog baiting a work venue. The rest of us call it a blood sport. So nothing has changed. You can watch the Russian video where ONE Pit Bull was trained for swat work. One Pit Bull does not represent all Pit Bulls any more than Lassie represents all Collies. I hope these facts help.

Falkosmom You would not consider hunting, something done very often with such dogs, real work? They have also been used for farming purposes also. Let us not forget about the many legitimate sports they can participate in and do well in, such as fly ball, agility, dock jumping, and what they call ring sports, which may not be work as many view work to be, but show qualities necessary for working venues.

Falkosmom Also, I gave two videos of Pit Bulls in police use, and there were more Pit Bulls in the Russian video I saw. Actually, I do not think there were any other types of dogs shown in the video I viewed. Is the video you saw a video by the channel named K-9 Unit Around the World? The video had Pit Bulls with multiple colors, so it could not be that one was confused for another. Also, it does not really matter how many there are, though a number of them in real working venues. The fact of the matter is that they most certainly can and most certainly are. Some major reasons people do not see them are because they do not look or do not want to look and because of individuals such as yourself who think that they cannot, or should not, be dogs for real working venues and may even do not want to see them working because it would contradict their belief that they are not good dogs.

Wow wee! TWO Pit Bulls that were functional for something besides killing pets and you had to go to Russia to find one of them. That's impressive....NOT! The Pit Bull has multiple colors? Is he gay? It absolutely matters how many there are. There are thousands and thousands of German Shepherd K9s just like there are thousands and thousands of Pit Bull pit fighters. Just because one or two Pits can perform K9 work and one or two German Shepherds have won in a pit, does not make those oddities representative of their respective breeds. People have tried tried to use Pits in other venues. As a whole, they found the breed too stupid, too dog aggressive and far too unstable to be considered viable candidates. Just because you choose to ignore, or are unaware of, the facts, don't mean they don't exist. It was proven long before we were on this earth that Pits were good for fighting in pits, and that was, and is, the purpose for which they were bred. If you want to find a viable venue for them, target practice would be a good idea.

Most pit bulls make it because this dog is a pit bull mix idiot...probably most knpv dogs are mutts as to why the floppy ears and back leg muscle. This is proven Great Danes, pit bulls, german shepherds, and I think maybe Siberian Husky in some of them too. They are legit a mixed breed knpv dogs. A pit bull if ahold of something in a well enough spot will maul anything.
