Incredibly well trained dog...but kind of defeats the purpose of the dog waiting for orders, especially in close range situations. Seems very likely that someone could just come up to the guy and hit him over the head from behind and the dog not react as it had not been given an order or not noticed the guy as its sole focus was on waiting for an order. In the video the 'behind' training shows the person already meeting the guy to begin with in the front (not real behind training)...I only mention the scenario as the dog is obviously trained for personal protection. Also in terms of a 'guard' dog, is the dog useless if left alone on the property as it is not receiving orders? Pitbulls are usually people friendly and therefore dont make good guard dogs.
@ninjakitty42288 жыл бұрын
Protection dogs are trained to wait for an order but pretty much any dog at all will react to someone attacking a member of their pack or property because in a wolf pack (and a dog is a wolf) the entire pack protects the territory and they will even come to the aid of the omega (lowest ranked) wolf. Having them trained is just a safer way to ensure the dog knows how to react in that situation while keeping the animal safe for the general public, as well as being able to stop or prevent the attack in the event that the dog does make a mistake.
@wildewillie898 жыл бұрын
A dog is not at all a wolf. Maybe some dogs like hybrid wolves or the oldest of breeds such as Caucasian Shepherds have some traits of wolves, but your conventional dog is not at all like a wolf. It is a completely different animal. Would be like saying a human is a monkey. There has been 3000 plus years of completely cut genetic ties from wolf and dog. That theory has been debunked by numerous scholars. And not all dogs will protect the territory, that is why many have no 'guard dog' traits at all. Why Pitbulls are famously not guard dogs, even though considered a tough dog. They will just lick an intruder to death, the same with many other dogs. Having them trained to this level is only of any use it seems in a controlled environment. That is everything is predictable so the dog reacts. It seems give him a situation he hasnt been trained for, then he will get confused, and then it is not really that safe in the general public. But its good training to mentally stimulate the dog to keep him occupied.

If they don't then they haven't been trained optimally or for very long. A properly disciplined K-9 should release immediately on command no matter what the breed. A dog that takes more than two commands to obey is running on instinct rather than training until it finally complies so there is work to be done if that's an issue. I do have to say though, although I think Shepherds and Malinois tend to be slightly more malleable when it comes to multi-purpose training, the sheer bite force of a pit bull is totally unsurpassed. Those jaws are not coming apart until the dog decides to let go. That broad wide skull is literally designed specifically for biting.

I had a malamute. We weight trained him with sleds and he was on a big calorie surplus. We also took him on multiple mile runs. He was about 150 pounds and about up to my waste and im 5 foot 9. We didn't train him to be agressive. We actually took him out with other people and dogs to get him used to them; but this dog was MEAN when it came to someone touching me. I was his primary friend and owner. So when I went out on walks, on time I got jumped by someone who got fired because of me and the dog immediately lunged for his throat but got him on the tricep and tore it 70% off the bone. Regardless, my dog was almost put down because I had a tough time proving that the dog was just protecting me. Sadly he died 2 years ago from bone cancer, R.I.P Smokey. 2005-2016. Pitbulls make great family dogs and will protect it's family with it's life. I'm a pitbull lover will always have a few in my house all of my dogs knew what attack commands are and when my son was give years old he found out that he could tell his dog to bite people. He got mad because my older beat him in a video game and as soon as he told his dog to bite my brother my brother ran to the bathroom because he knew that dog was coming. My dogs would never harm small children but none of my dogs would ever accept abuse from people that think it's ok to hit dogs.

I've worked as an agitator for police dogs in Riverside County California. I've never seen such a well trained dog, ever. This dog is amazing and at the very tip top of the game. His focus on the desires of the trainer is extraordinary. The redirects and the release and re-bites alone are perfection. Whenever you have a fiery dog the hardest thing to teach is getting them off someone after they latch on. This dog is like a light switch and that is hard to get to, I mean crazy hard.
@BulletproofPitbulls8 жыл бұрын
+James Halleluyah well at least this is a educated response..You guys use mals probably from Holland, the pitbull i use are very intelligent and very in tuned with me so the call offs were easy once he saw i was being attacked..Mals have massive prey drive but lack some of the bonding i get from pits..My opinion..i got bit by a mal yesterday doing narcotics scenting yesterday just turned around and nailed me no reason what so ever..the dogs in my opinion are getting too drivey and losing the clear headedness..my lines are all brains no natural human aggression
@jameshalleluyah81338 жыл бұрын
+Bulletproof Pitbulls Yes, my former department used Belgian Malinois and they are fiery. One of the dogs I trained Kaya simply would not release unless you were right on top of him yelling the release command and pulling at his collar with all your strength. As for any other training forget it. Kaya only did one thing seek and bite, no redirects, no stopping mid run he was like a nuclear missile once launched there's no turning back. Kaya also bit me a few times for no reason and even mangled one of our patrol deputies once. I've also owned Pits and they have all been much more willing to please and are not so, almost cat like, as the Mals. Mals just seem to have their own agenda and your input is not needed. Again, outstanding work I doubt most people will realize just what you have accomplished with your pit.
@BulletproofPitbulls8 жыл бұрын
+James Halleluyah hey i really appreciate your comment..Breeds are changing and losing traits that are sacrificed for drive..As police dogs it also costs more to get them to be a all around dog i find a properly bred pitbull like what i breed is exactly what you see clear in the head full of drive. like i said we were doing work with 2 5 month old pups scenting narcotics going to police departments in a few months and one wacked me for no reason and wacked my mentor..lol we laugh about it because we understand but stability is being lost in all breed as is good health..truth is there is lots of pitbull in mals but no one discusses it so man aggression with massive amounts of prey drive gives you all go with brakes..i dont drive a dragster i prefer a porsche gt3 if you know what i mean..ps if achilles the sweetheart was in that room that pup would be dead..he only gets stupid of dogs get aggressive with me...genetics

There's no such thing as an aggressive breed of dog, just bad owners. Excellent example of how well behaved dogs can be with the right training and discipline
@iamgriff8 жыл бұрын
+maria I bullshit, pit bulls are most aggressive after being fought, beaten, and tortured. Any terrier dog is a "Work" dog, they are bred to please a owner. Most aggressive dogs are the product of bad owners... A newborn puppy does not come into the world with a "IM GOING TO BITE PEOPLE" This is a learned behavior. It is easier to pass blame off on a breed of dogs, then it is to pass blame on owners of dogs. If there were no more pit bulls on this planet, ill will people would still make mean dogs out of another breed
@iamgriff8 жыл бұрын
+maria I that is fine, you are very entitled to your opinion. I am not trying to argue that. My point is this: if you really do some research regarding any bully breed. They are very people oriented, other animal tolerant, and very trainable. A dog is only as smart as the owner. The majority of pit bull owners ( i say this term loosely, as there are many bull terrier breeds) We are responsible owners keeping family oriented members of the family. It is easier to punish a breed, than it is to punish a owner of a animal.

It's true about the tail wag:( A stiff, upright tail wag is a sign of aggression often overlooked. That's why it's noted in many temperament tests. But, the dog does look pretty happy out doing its job. Active dogs usually thrive on mental and physical exercise. (Mine hypnotize me for pizza and are very happy with that job.)

You guys are amazing! My mom raised beautiful amazing pitbulls in her youth and they were amazing. Most loyal dogs ever
@cindiq4you7518 жыл бұрын
In 28 years of having PB's I've fallen deeply in love with this breed. Our guys always took great care of our family with loyalty and love. Their personalities can go from soft to the ultimate guardian. Our 14 year old PB recently passed and was still on his job as guardian to his family, yet he was and honored part of our family and friend. We want to have another PB, yet society has deemed this breed not worthy and we would not be able to travel many places due to them not being welcome. They do need a strong leader that realizes any dog much less stronger breeds like PB's can't run loose or rule the roost and NEED human interaction. A well train dog is the ultimate, yet videos like this while showing control as well place much fear in the eyes of many who would extinguish this breed in a heart beat. It's easy for me to see the love and loyalty your PB's have for you. But, please try to show their tolerance and what are appropriate actions with this breed. They are emotional dogs that sometimes I feel are so sensitive that they may make a mistake that could be fatal to both parties. I so much want to see this breed better understood and loved, because they are SO MUCH MORE than strength and teeth. They are some of the warmest personality family dogs ever...
@seanhigginsofficial8 жыл бұрын
Until you get attacked by one. I know from experience.
@cindiq4you7518 жыл бұрын
Sean Higgins , I'm sorry you've had a negative experience. I won't ever minimize someones' experience, yet I can empathize. When I was a child a family members little dog bit my arm and leg for walking down the hall. I had to have stitches several times and we found out he didn't like kids for what ever reason. So from then on up until recently I wouldn't have a small dog around my family and especially around my kids when they were little. I know little dogs don't do as much physical damage, yet mentally big or small when were attacked by either animal or human we are scared. Everyday kids and adults are attacked by big and small breeds, the media has blown some of this up and YES, us humans are to blame for some of these attacks. All large breed guard "type" dogs should have a well fenced yard, strong leader and that's not the beating type of leader either, yet when his family says stop, then stop. Training is a must with any breed. So many times people get a large gladiator breed and just leave them outside and point out the window to show everyone their big tough dog, yet all dogs crave interaction, warmth and love and so many go crazy from being chained and alone. Animal Control officers see this first hand and most of these officers Love this breed. Why? Because they are sensitive, and seem to excuse our human DA disease and want nothing more than to be with us. Again I'm not going to attack any one breed. Yet, I hope someday you can meet a PB who can show their love and warmth to you and I would hope then you could try to see what they so dearly desire is love. That's all most living creatures have ever wanted.

If people really took their time to get to know pitbulls .Every person would own a pitbull !!! They are the most loving ,loyal ,friendly dog I have ever owned !!! If you come across a vicious pitbull ,it's not the dogs fault ,It's the way it has been raised that is at fault !! You treat a dog badly ,you get a bad dog !! You treat a dog aggressively,you get an aggressive dog !!! You treat a dog with love and kindness ,you get a loving kind dog !!! As long as you train and treat any dog properly,you don't have any problems whatsoever!!! But don't get between a pitbull and his owners family because he'll do what his been trained to do ,Protect them at all costs !!!

We have 4 boys. 3 human, one our pitbull mix. He has been protective of them since day one. We were at 711 one time and I waited outside with the two little boys in the wagon while dad and our oldest went in. This super sketchy dude cane over to try and pet Doom and he was NOT havin it.. this was before he was fully trained. I normally would have held him back, but not this time, so he was growling and when the guy was like, "Oohh, and you have these BEAUTIFUL kids.. hmm.. and started walking over to them, Doom guarded the wagon with his body and was snarling and showing teeth. I was like, "I think we're good here, you're clearly not winning the dog over." and he left. This was the first time I got to see how protective he was and I was a proud mama! I know all dogs will protect, but there's something about having a dog that a lot of people think is scary that makes it more fun. lol

this is an example of someone who has dedicated himself to training that dog and the dog has dedicated himself to him in return. a good handler with a trained dog has a far better relationship and bond than anyone whose dog is only a pet. i have my pitbull trained to hunt game birds with field commands and is also obedience trained. he has become so in tuned with me and i can now walk him without a leash which he loves. giving your dog goals does far more than makes them "well behaved" it makes them happier.

I wish you knew what you were talking about. I had one, that was raised as a member of my family. She never even attempted to bite anyone. She got to be around my niece, that was just learning to walk. She spent maybe 10 seconds sniffing my niece and then went over and layed down. No aggression, or excitement. I'd bet this trainer has his dogs around anyone that want to be friendly, without any incidents. My dog never , ever started a fight with another dog, but wouldn't allow another dog to bully her either. Several owners told me when an argument between dogs started, that it was their dog, that started the ruckus. You're one of those folks that thinks you know everything, and knows very little. Be around some pitbulls, and learn something before coming here and babbling. What part of the North are you from ?

My Pitt does not force food nor get possessive with it. He is almost able to have it on his nose without eating it until given permission. He is already exceptional so if he never gets quite there it's forgiveable. I believe he can do it though and will continue to work with him. Real life application: a baby gives your dog a piece of chocolate. Vs The dog take chocolate off the table. 1DER is already advanced to not take food without permission. But if one teaches the dog advanced obedience...if someone mistakingly tries to offer your dog something undesirable your dog will obey you amidst great temptation. Now even the most loving and trained dog is a canine opportunist by nature...so I understand some dogs will never reach this level but many dogs do. Either way training is fun 😊

Same. My friends new boyfriend has a beautiful pit that's unfortunately been trained with aggression and beatings. He is very terrifying to be around because no one has control over him. You can't even pet him :(

bee pot Oh, my goodness. That poor dog. Everyone blames the dogs, when it's as you are saying in general-some of them only know aggression, because that's all they've been trained to do. How sad.

Tracie Rivera it breaks my heart. He wants attention and wants to play but her man's rules are you're not allowed to touch him. I'd understand if he was obedient but he's not at all. He growls all the time and is generally restless around everyone. He can't go on walks because he refuse to let anyone, even his owner, put a leash or collar on him. It's so sad.

@@BulletproofPitbulls hey had a question what is yr take on pitbulls not being great guard dogs cuz of no natural human aggression instinct and do u think a Rottweiler would be a better choice for a guard dog?
@BulletproofPitbulls5 жыл бұрын
@@raulpena6100 of course the Rottweiler is bred for that the pit bull is not. A good Rottweiler is hard to beat finding one is tricky

Detest their ears being cut. Your dogs are unbelievable. Thank you for showing them being perfectly calm around other dogs and showing them to be clever and passionate. They've got terrible press due to irresponsible owners. And it's always the dog that gets put down.

docking the ears on a protection/service dog prevents an assailant from attack the dog via the ears.
@Basin798 жыл бұрын
GentlemanBystander so the owner chopping them off first is better? Besides I doubt an attacker would target the ears when the eyes are more sensitive.

I’m a proud owner of a blue nose who seems too sweet to be this kind of dog yet I know deep down he will rip someone up to protect this home. My baby. ♥️
