But it's not exactly true. According to Sonic Chronicles, the Nocturnus Clan is still there, albeit trapped in the Twilight Zone. You bring Shade, another echidna, into Sonics world in the end. His clan is dead, yes, but he really isn't the last echidna. But if she would've dropped one line about Ken Penders, it would've been over immediately.

And after having analyzed every line, I can safely declare that Matilda wouldn’t have won the rap battle with just her first verse (both of Eleven’s verses combined are stronger and edge Matilda’s first by a small amount). And good to see someone else who thought Knuckles vs. Undyne was close, especially considering how I am on the side who thought Knuckles won (and didn’t think Undyne was lacking for the most part).

Honestly might be my favorite battle of yours so far this year. Toss up between this and Sweeney vs Bateman. The animations pop the Hell off, Patrick continues to impress me with his talent. The lyrics were a good balance of fun jokes and hard hitting jabs. Combined with the stellar voice performances this felt like an actual BATTLE. TEV did a great job, and Cami is destined to be one of the most iconic rap battle performances period. Love it!

Both were brutal, but Undyne just... Got the upper hand on the counters. Also, as a guardian, Undyne may even be a little comic at times, but you only see that side once you befriend her. Until then, she's simply FEARSOME, no matter the route. The line about "abandoning the land he was supposed to protect" really hurt - Also, fact that Knuckles is more remembered as a joke than Undyne, even outside the memes.(...Well, not really because after the first, on every title he appears, Knuckles becomes another meme.)

While Knuckles lost all his rings. On the last scene, it's implicit that Knuckles would be insta-KO'd at least. So in two fronts, Knuckles loses, considering moral and mechanic-wise. Comparing that to a single line that reflects more about the player controlling the ten-year-old kid and ignoring Undyne's whole arc where she doesn't change, neither does she BUDGE from her spot, UNLESS you're going pacifist, *only then* you can learn more about her and see another side to her personality, not mentioning the WHOLE THING about the Genocide arc where she goes FULL BERSERK and becomes one of the only two bosses you face and that gives you a hard time, only below SANS, you're really being a quite a bit blindfolded there. Extra: Alphys fools Undyne into believing about Anime, yes, but mind you about how much time they spent underground. And this only led her to be even more focused about guarding her spot. And how she also lies to THE PLAYER about everything, until the end of her route. Alphys and Eggman are different in the way Eggman played Knuckles up to steal the only thing he was guarding and succeeded, while Alphys didn't really mean to, but got addicted to a life of lies after the mistake with the Determination experiments, and even SHE repents by the end of her route, either by telling you the truth after you face Mettaton, then if you're going full-Pacifist, the whole act in the True Lab, or by actually TRYING to make Mettaton into a full defender on Genocide Route. The only snag about that is that it's almost useless to try and fight a murderous being with an almost-maxed-out psycho rating.

I feel like this battle's deciding factor was the ways the characters were written. undyne just felt more like a hero and the fact that she died in battle just hits so much harder since in the end she won, she bought time for her race to hide and survive whereas knuckles survived himself but failed to protect his people and since the battle was focused on the hero architype undyne won. I feel like if knuckles was more layed back or mocked the premise of undertale more it would be closer but in the setting of this battle undyne just wins.

I know Im late but I saw this whilst rewatching the battle and I’d like to add: This is actually a triple with the next bar, “dropped your duties for the GREEN and you CANT ESCAPE it” In Undertale, Undyne’s battle gives you the Green Soul color, which has a different gameplay mechanic, but it also removes the FLEE option, so you can’t escape the battle, which you can see how it lines up!

Not only because is one of the few recent RB that you made with both characters being ones I'm super familiar with, but also because it was generally amazing; the rhymes, style, background music, the animation (especially Undyne's)...
