How can I avoid my dark colors from rubbing off using this paper?
@AdrianasPaperCrafts4 жыл бұрын
Some light ink transfer is normal. So if you notice a bit of color on your fingertips after handling the paper, dont stress, thats normal. However, if so much ink is rubbing off that it is affecting your print out,then I'd suggest to play around with the print settings on your printer. Also, confirm that your specific printer is capable of handling the paper type you are using. You can also try cleaning your printer using its own "clean" settings.

Hi, new here. I have Koala 30lbs glossy paper and I use Epson ET-2720. I get pizza wheel marks. I contacted Koala and this was their suggestion: Sorry to tell you that there are normally 3 ways to solve pizza wheels marks problems : 1. change another printer and try again; 2. change printer Quality when you print, you can try Standard, not Best to print the paper; 3. another way is to speed the drying time while print it by blowing the paper with a hair dryer... Do you have any other suggestions?
@AdrianasPaperCrafts3 жыл бұрын
Pizza wheel marks are a printer issue, not a paper issue. That happens because the wheels leaving those marks are what grip your paper to feed it through the printer. IF the wheel marks are leaving behind a black trace, then that means the black ink on your paper has not dried quickly enough, and the wheels are picking up that black ink, spreading it on your sheet. That occurs when your print settings don't match your paper type settings. Ink also won't dry correctly if the paper you use doesn't work with the ink you use. Koala glossy paper is only compatible with DYE ink. If you printer uses anything besides that, then the ink won't fully dry.
@mariel97893 жыл бұрын
@@AdrianasPaperCrafts Thank you for your response. It's not an ink issue. Pizza wheel marks are indented in the paper. I guess I need to look into the printer you use. Thank you again.
@AdrianasPaperCrafts3 жыл бұрын
If there is no ink on the pizza wheels, it means your printer is gripping extra hard on the paper. *Some* pizza wheel marks are too be expected on thin paper, but if it's super evident, it could be that your printer is expecting to grab heavy paper, when in reality you have thin paper waiting. So that could go back to changing the paper type settings. However, if even after changing that it still leaves marks, it means your printer isn't really meant to work with such thin paper. It's just how some printers can't handle thick paper, and that's because their rollers/grippers aren't strong enough. Your printer sounds like it has strong grips.

So *some* slight ink transfer is normal. For example, after assembling a dozen chip bag favors, I will have a slight tint to my finger tips where ink little by little transfered to my fingertips. That's perfectly normal. Now, if you're getting big streaks or smudges, that's a problem. Most times it will signify that the paper is not compatible with your printer. I know, I know, "but the package says for inkjets", however, not all printers "like" all types of paper. You should definitely look into your printers specs to see what type of paper is recommends to use, as well as how to clean your printrr rollers, because often times dirty print rollers are the culprit.

Anyone use koala on a epson 2720. I am getting wheel marks I have done head cleaning everything and I still get wheel marks
@AdrianasPaperCrafts4 жыл бұрын
That can happen because the printer is being told that it needs to pick up glossy paper, which can be heavier then regular paper, so the wheels grip harder than it normally would so that it successfully picks up the paper. Try playing with the print settings. Is there a similar setting that you can select that isn't necessarily "glossy"?
I wouldn't choose matte, just bc the way it applies the ink is a tiny bit different then when it applies it to a glossy surface. But try playing around with anything after matte, but before glossy.

I dont use any good glossy labels bc in my opinion, there ano good affordable ones. So I use matte for everything. I do use Milcoast Glossy water resistant paper, but its only water resistant if you print using a laser printer. And then no matter what printer you use, the color quality on this paper is horrendous, so I hate it for any serious items. I dont seal any of my labels bc my mattes are great. The glossy one would probably mess up from the sealant, but that's bc of that particular brand. If I REALLY want my item to be glossy, I would use regular glossy paper, but then add adhesive to the back, like double sided adhesive or hot glue the item down.

Read the back of the pack of paper. It explains that there paper requires dye ink, but some printers have black ink that is pigment ink, and that's why the black smears.

*EDIT* I ordered this one. It is exactly what i needed! thank you I am looking exactly for this but i need it to not be too shiny. I am a neanderthal to all of this so forgive my ignorance, but I am looking for shiny, but not reflective paper, kinda like the kind you see in magazine pages but not thick. Needs to be flimsy. I really loved your video but then i started watching other videos and other youtubers started talking about Matte or silk paper so now i have that in my head and confused as hell. If you know exactly what i am talking about or looking for. By all means please post your amazon partner link and ill buy it from that. I am on a tight budget so please consider finding me soemthign in the $10 to $20 range if possible of 100 sheets . Again, i need exactly this, shiny but not reflective, magazine thin. I am trying to avoid too shiny reflective and thick. Thank you

@@AdrianasPaperCrafts No ma'am i haven't. I'm not really into that. I just needed this specific one for a specific purpose, but by all means share it with me. i might consider if something cool pops up in mind to put it to use for. I do sell alot on ebay so maybe i can create some little thank you ebay stickers to stick on the packages. It might help for buyers to actually leave me my feedback. Link me up

Did the black ink on the back smudge? How long it takes to dry? That’s the paper I use but the black ink Smudge.
@AdrianasPaperCrafts3 жыл бұрын
Mine never smudge. You always want to check your printers specifications to read what settings your printers manufacturer recommends.

@@AdrianasPaperCrafts How do i do that? i have a HP printer so do i check the setting on the hp app?

I would suggest actually googling your printer. Act as if you were going to buy your printer online. Read the "specifications" in the description of listing to see what type of paper is compatible with it.
