Yep really just a better value platform vs Flex. It seems like Kobalt and craftsman are really battling it out lately. First the caulk guns, now cut off tools and grease guns.

@@Tools-Tested I'm rooting for Craftsman as a brand, and SBD and Lowes may be turning them around, but they have had a lot of Ls in recent decades. I'd still pick a random Kobalt over random Craftsman power tool, until they show consistency.

Kobalt also has an older model, a 4" one they call a "circular saw" instead of cut-off tool. It's not quite as high RPM but still 12,000 and can utilise grinding type cut-off disca as well, just larger ones. I wonder how that figures in here? Larger disc but lower RPM, possibly more torque?

been curious about greenworks 24v for a while, absolutely no major reviewer will touch them outside that one brushed drill from like 8 years ago

Yeah seem like for the 20v stuff they just need better battery packs, but looks like they are working on that. Sundays video will have the brushless hammer drill.

I’d like to see top handle chainsaw comparison with the new dewalt flexvolt top handle model dccs674 as well as the m18 2826 the husqy and stihl cordless, also ik Makita just released some 40v chainsaws idk if a top handle was one of ‘em but hikoki released a 36v top handle cs3635dc….I have the dewalt and Milwaukee I’d be willing to let ya test…that new dewalt is tough man, it comes near if not being able to replace a 35cc gas saw and it’s hard to even say that out loud but I haven’t found anything the 674 can’t accomplish that a 35cc gas top handle can so it’s pretty damn good, kinda expensive but a good saw so far the chainspeed bump is key for cutting smaller stuff cuz the 2826 was kinda chattery on the smalls but did well in “big” wood (relatively)

Yeah I hope to at some point. I’m currently changing the motor out on the angle grinder dyno. So if the new motor can handle the Watt load we should be good to go. I already have the drive adapter made for chainsaws.

As an auto mechanic would you recommend a cut off like this or an angle grinder to cut off bolts and stuff?

Angle grinder, these cutoff tools are more for cutting thin flat materials like tile or siding. And as a mechanic a angle grinder will get you a lot of usage

I would get a cheap corded angle grinder and a cut off tool. If you can only get one then probably the angle grinder first.

EVE cells are usually not bad. I doubt this'd be the reason for the Greenworx' performance (or lack thereof). EVE cells all fulfill their spec as far as capacity and amperage are concerned. Probably these particular cells are of a low performance line and the battery has electronically limited output to avoid damaging the cells.

Yeah it popped up on amazon and I was like hmm that motor housing looks like Ridgid’s this could be interesting in 24v.

@@Tools-Tested It certainly does but I think Greenworks is owned by Greenworks, or at least not TTI. Then again, TTI doesn’t own the Ridgid name either, they just lease it so I guess Greenworks could’ve contracted with TTI. Regardless I was actually glad to see it. I think Greenworks is a bit of an underdog and underrepresented in the media. I have their 3000 psi pressure washer, easily the best 120v pressure washer around. At least in my opinion. They also have a TON of OPE, including stuff that competes with Ego, but you rarely hear anything about them.
