Just Bring It remains my favourite Band-Maid album. While there's really isn't a single album in the band's discography that I don't enjoy, Just Bring It is the album I often find myself returning to time and time again as it is not only the transitional album in the band's discography, marking the first time where the bulk of the album was comprised of all original material written and arranged by the band, with a few notable exceptions, but which also happens to contain the best batch of songs on one album which had been concocted either on the part of the band alone or with the assistance of others up to that point.

I read a study by an Oxford linguistics master who analyzed Miku's lyrics. Her lyrics are quite complex, with lots of puns and references to historical events or books, games.

If you search around there is a bootleg segment of Miku's solo intro to Influencer from Yokohama arena last November, a proper big rockstar solo guitar intro. Kanami described it as the thing she most looking forward to about the Yokohama show, as Kanami is Miku's guitar teacher. Kanami was tearing up just talking about it in the concert documentary. In the video segment you can see Kanami and Saiki sitting on the corner of the drum riser in the background, and Saiki is reaching over to pat Kanami's head as she was crying with happiness and pride for her student.

Thanks again for continuing your journey down the pigeon hole. Couple of answers: 1. Tiny hat - Akane said that the way the hat was attached to her head really hurt, so they all decided to retire it. It has been rumored that a fan passing by the trash bin outside of the agency spotted the tiny hat and it now lives in comfort in a shrine in Germany. 2. I believe that Ohranje has met all the people in the documentaries 3. Saiki's voice in that one song (live "Thrill") that you said was great was before her throat surgery in 2017, she had a lot of grit to her voice back then.

Thanks for the fun reactions to the documentaries, Lanae! Yes, they have done quite a few pieces for anime and even for some games... Why wouldn't somebody want their music on a project?... but... think about this for a sec... Lots of American TV shows have rock songs for their intros.If a Japanese person who watched TV shows like Friends heard then heard the Barenaked Ladies song such as "If I had a Million Dollars" and said, "Wow, this sounds like an intro for an American TV show!" would that seem like a salient point to make? As it happens, Barenaked Ladies did the intro song for The Big Bang Theory. The Rembrandts did the theme for Friends. Yes, American bands do the theme songs for some American TV shows, and Japanese rock bands do some of the intros for Japanese Anime. Of course they do... would you hire the Rembrandts to do a Japanese Anime opening? Mostly what you're saying is that they're rock, and that they are singing in Japanese. You aren't wrong, but it's akin to saying that water is wet. Yep, sure is. 😄 This isn't a criticism, note, I'm just trying to give you some perspective on the subject.

On the song About Us (that you wrote down). I don't want to tell you not to watch the official video, but maybe consider starting with @Ohrenje's absolutely phenomenal mini-doc about that song. You'll have WAY more context and you'll get a LOT more out of the song, IMO. At least watch the part where he plays Saiki's speech to the fans before performing the song in an Covid era livestream. On Animes - Band-Maid has done several songs for animes actually. Here's my theory though on why someone gave you a hard time about mentioning that. Us old geezers tend to think that saying that minimizes the song - or implies that it couldn't stand on its own because it's "just" an anime opener/closer. I'm coming around a bit on that though (and it wasn't me that said that!) only because I've learned that many younger folks mean it as a compliment.

Miku is also my biggest inspiration. If you'd have told me that me, a guy in my 60's would say that about a small Japanese lady that says Po, I'd have said you were nuts. But here we are. When I'm not feeling like practicing my guitar, Miku is talking to me in my head saying PRACTICE PO - PRACTICE PO!!!! And you really don't want to cross her!

Among all the Band-Maid members, for me the most inspirational is Miku. From zero knowledge about guitar till finally have her own signature guitar model. She is also looking for all the members all by herself. That is determination! I hope her dream to dominate the world can be come true one day

Miku, of course, now is a spokesperson for Zemeitas Guitars and she has several models including the famous "Flappy Pigeon" guitar, a beautiful, limited edition collectors piece. She just recently announced that she newer custom signature model.

The other day, on KZbin a saw a video of the lead guitarist of "Going South" a Southern rock cover band playing a regular southern rock song the custom Zemeitas "Flappy Pigeon". He was great and the sound from the Zemeitas was amazing (even in a Southern rock song).

She didn't just choose the Rickenbacker for it's looks. He idol, Sheena Ringo, has a song with the Rickenback in the lyrics. Yes, we all miss the Tiny Hat. It started with MISA, and then was passed on to Akane. It has since been retired. It's too difficult to keep on while drumming. The running gag of Miku being "Little Pigeon" is all through BAND-MAID lore. After COVID everyone was hoping for another BAND-MAIKO April Fool's Day Music video, but I guess it was two and done, because then we got Miku Goes Solo as Cluppo, that being the transliteration of Kluppo. But they were very kowaii kawaii, "Scary Cute" just like Miku. And towards the beginning of the Music Video for 'Unleash' where they appear in anime form, you can see her turn into a pigeon. Omajinai Time is a carry over tradition from the Maid Cafes. It's basically Miku's Magic Time where she casts a spell on the audience to make it a special and memorable evening. MOE MOE . . . KUN KUN!!!! Happy Birthday!

I don't think Kanami's parents were divorced among BAD-MAID's parents. The other four members all had divorced parents, but they were raised by wonderful mothers and grew up to be kind people. I've also heard stories of their grandmothers praying for their success.

Three years ago, my wife bought a Zemaitis MFG24 for me because she saw the brand in BAND-MAID's videos and thought they were pretty. It's good to be married to a doctor. Of all of the Les Paul body guitars I've played over my 27 years of playing, it's the easiest to play. The sound is great especially after I switched out the pickups, and it's a work of art.

I'll always have a soft spot for Just Bring It. It was the album that introduced me to the band. Love World Domination too. I'd say Just Bring It for personal reasons - it has killer tracks on it too - with Unseen World and WD tied for 2nd spot. They've been killing it since New Beginning though, even though they weren't 'pure' B-M songs then. You could tell what they'd become and frankly, the song-writers they had working with the ladies then knew their stuff.

Even though I can hardly wait for it, I would recommend that you listen to at least some of these songs in advance. 😅 Together with us, of course! 😍 I would recommend the following: As a double feature, the songs "secret my lips" by Band Maid and "Secret MAIKO Lips" by Band MAIKO. And then the song "Peace and Love" by Cluppo. You could of course also listen to the songs beforehand as a reaction, but only publish them after the documentary. And there are more songs in the documentary, but I would definitely recommend these to you. Po!

Suggestion: When you do the reaction for Band-Maid's song "About Us", make sure you watch the video that has Saiki speaking from the heart about the pandemic & not being able to do concerts. A good one to watch is Ohrenje-About Us: For the Fans 😁

I don't believe Kanami's parents are divorced. She keeps details about her family very very close. We do know that she has 2 siblings a brother and a sister, and I've read mentions of a nephew and 2 nieces. Oh and she has a dog.

So that is the connection 😅 And do you know "Cluppo" already? The first EP of that act is named "hatofull" 😅 ... For those who don't know. Miku manages the band's finances, and the personal finances of all the ladies. According to them, they trusted Miku with their wallets because she knows everyone and everything in show business and always gets what she wants. Miku also negotiates with the label, about tours, etc. In fact, she is the producer of the band.

It's heartbreaking that you came to associate guitar with your troubles with alcohol and substance abuse. You're still so young, so I hope for you that you can separate out the two in your mind, and someday be able to pick it up again. I'm in my 60's and used to be a pretty good hard core jazz trumpet player, but I can't play now because of really bad dental problems. So - I'm just now picking up guitar, and yeah - it's coming but way too slowly. Folks that haven't tried to play an instrument really don't know how many thousands of hours of practice to get truly proficient on an instrument.

Actually anime is the best thing bands can do , as its the best way to break into western markets for Japanese bands, they all want to do it n band maid has done a few , its not an insult to them to say this should an anime , those ppl need to shutup po!

Whoever makes opening songs for anime gets a percentage of the anime rentals, it's very profitable. Groups and solo artists who make opening songs for anime can kick open any doors in Japan's show business

If you watch the video for Thrill you can see Miku holding her Rickenbacker guitar but not playing it. Kanami has stated in interviews that she plays all of the lead and rhythm guitar parts on the studio albums. Miku's rhythm guitar playing has become an essential part of their live shows though. Kanami wouldn't be free to play all of the riffs that she does without Miku solidly holding down the rhythm guitar parts while also handling backing vocals and even lead vocals on a few songs. If you like Miku's acoustic guitar then you should watch the Band-Maid Online Acoustic Okyuji which they gave to the world as a Christmas present in 2021. The arrangements that they did to re-imagine their heavy songs into acoustic songs is stunningly good. They not only did songs as a complete band but also broke into different groups of members for certain songs. You need to see Akane playing the Cajon with an added cymbal and chimes. I have not seen anyone play one any better. Saiki was sounding gritty in those early days because she was having vocal cord issues. She had an operation on her throat to remove polyps around 2018. Misa was the first Maid to wear the tiny hat for a short time before Akane then wore it for a few years. Omajinai is Magic Spell. This is from the maid cafe culture where your server performs Omajinai over your food to make it even more delicious. Miku will tell you that Omajinai Time is the "Most important time" of their okyuji. She once said "You have two options. Join or jooiiin. You are trapp-eed". It basically consists of Miku saying something such as Moe Moe or Kyun Kyun and the audience must repeat it back to her or she will call you out on not saying it. "You didn't say Moe Moe, Po". (LOL)

@@Olkam-w5u The "solo" that Miku played at Yokohama was just bar chords like she has been doing all along. I won't be surprized to hear that Miku is playing some guitar on upcoming studio albums though. I am waiting for her to start doubling Kanami on harmonized lead licks that are curently done with the backing tracks during live shows. I think her skill to do it is there but she may be reluctant to try.
