Ale really doesn't talk a lot even in interviews, preferring to let Dany and Pau do the talking. She's slowly starting to talk more in interviews though. I wouldn't call her shy as much as I'd say she's reserved.

There's very little chance in Finland to get eaten or bitten to death by wild beasts when going to nature. Adder is the only venomous snake here. Regarding the nature, there's also this fundamental difference to the US: "Mandelin Finnish nature - Freedom To Roam". While not getting bitten to death, you might still get bitten though: "Itikoita - EP8 - Incredible Fishing With Hissu & Tommi". Finns are actually quite into motorsports. Monster trucks do have their audience here too.

I have a distinct impression with Tuomas that his comments regarding the meaning of the lyrics are not generally all that honest - personally i think his songs dealt with issues that were far too personal and potentially destructive for the band to just come right out and say it. In other words, i think your interpretations are as valid as anything else and possibly even closer to the truth - but thats just my gut feeling 🤔

If you found it odd that Marko pronounced Wacken with a "w" sound, just wait till you see Floor's sister Irene pronounce Jansen with a "j" sound. 😏

Hey Lanae's, Nice Review again Thank you, And yes you keep on learning all about Nightwish Band, and Floor Jansen, from the people who really Know, from Their True Fans, The Nightwish Army. and a quick PS, Go and check out Floor Jansen, in her first Band (After Forever) which she was in for 12 years, In particular, a song called (Dreamflight), live at prog power in the USA 2007, you will see just how much confidence, Floor had even then, and also some of Floors own band who were called (Revamp), Why I am telling this, The reason is, Floor Jansen has always been Just and Amazing Stage Presence on stage, and not like someone said, it took her no time at all to fit into Nightwish Band, go and watch the documentary Please learn the the set list in 48 hours, I have seen all the above mentioned bands live, Nightwish many times, After For Ever 3 times, and Revamp 2 times,.

If you listen carefully Marco also says a song "from the waults" not Vaults. It is his Finnish accent.

Lanae you are the most delightful young Woman with such a warm personality. Ohh,and did I mention your hair ??!! It is beautiful. You will notice that Marko in particular pronounces words starting with V as W. Much as the Germans and Dutch pronounce J as Y. It is just characteristics of those European and Scandinavian countries in their pronunciation of English, remembering that English is not their first language. Keep up the great work, you always make me smile !!!! 🥰

Vocal ranges... their explanation in that vlog was a little confusing but, from that and a few other interviews I've seen, this is what I've gathered. They are all likely altos (at the very least mezzos). Pau seems to naturally sit a tad higher in the center than Dany, but Dany's range is at least a few notes better on both sides. Dany said that people get tricked because Pau's overtones are darker, making her sound lower to the unstudied ear. Ale is a bit of a wildcard, given that she rarely sings lead. She'll often provide both high and low harmonies, as needed. Dany and Pau seem to agree that Ale's falsetto is the best of them, but I don't know if that means range wise or just purity of tone. Beyond their amazing harmonies (performed flawlessly live), they each bring something unique to the table. Dany has a voice custom made for rock. Power, range, flexibility, and a unique timbre. Pau's natural rasp and the ability to break on demand make her perfect for stirring the emotions. Ale's smooth silky texture is backing vocal magic and an integral part of their ensemble sound. Of course, the ladies are so damn young, this is all a moving target at this point. They are still developing! We shall have to see what their "final form" looks like (cue the boss music).

Yea, we do conscription because of our history with Russia. We never discontinued conscription, even when it seemed relations were seemingly getting better. If we didn't do it, the Soviet Union/Russia would have rolled over with an army fifth the size of our whole population and annexed us a long time ago. The only shot at deterring a potential invasion with this small a population, is to have conscription, and therefore a strong reserve to mobilize during wartime. Fortunately, Finns generally are willing to defend their nation and most complete their military service, which takes around 6-12 months most of the time.

Greetings from Finland. Some might migrate to avoid the Finnish winter, but for the most parts life survives here through winter just fine. E.g. that snowy forest in the video is live and well. Houses have heating and winter clothing keeps people warm. Even the fishes are live under that ice. Some even miss winter during the summer, as seen on this video: "PERJANTAI: Summer Ice Fishing is For Real". Btw, The North American Wife Carrying Championships have taken place every year since 1999 in Newry, Maine. While most of the Finland's population do live in the southern part of Finland, there are larger cities across the country and also in the northern part of Finland. E.g. Oulu is the 5tn largest city in Finland and Rovaniemi is the 17th largest, and the latter one-where Santa Claus has his village-is located near Arctic Circle. Yes, it's a fact; Santa lives in Finland. it's probably more interesting and relatable to learn about a new country through some links to the US. E.g. speaking of that Santa's village, it was built around the Roosevelt Cabin. As a member of the UNRRA, the precursor to UNICEF, Eleanor Roosevelt visited Finland in 1950 to witness the post-war rebuilt taking place and wanted to visit the Arctic Circle during her visit. A cabin was constructed for that event. The cabin has since been visited by few statesmen, including Lyndon B. Johnson. Here's a video of that cabin and an introduction video to Santa's village: "Rooseveltin maja | Napapiirin ensimmäinen maja" and "Christmas: Santa Claus Village Rovaniemi Lapland Finland Arctic Circle home of Father Christmas". Also, as it happens, the Cola-Santa's illustrator Haddon Sundblom' has also ancestry in the Nordic region. His father was from Åland Islands, which is an autonomous part of Finland located in the archipelago between Finland and Sweden and his mother was from Sweden: "The Legend of Coca-Cola and Santa Claus". Speaking of cabins, this video might interest you: "Why is the Oldest Finnish Log Cabin in New Jersey?". Since that fact video's host is Canadian and Oulu city has been mentioned. This video shows how people cope in winter conditions: "Why Canadians Can't Bike in the Winter (but Finnish people can)". Also, about Oulu, Finnish Immigration to the US and independence day: "Oulu - Finding Your Finnish Sisu" and "Finland is looking for Matt Damon. Has anyone seen him?". If you're going to watch more Finland videos, Sauna is probably one subject you'ill come across: "Sauna: Finnish Relaxation in Minnesota", "AVANTO HOLE IN THE ICE", "Bruce Oreck has an unusual sauna experience ", "Sauna culture in Finland" and "Rajaportti Sauna: My Fave Finnish City: Tampere & Finlands Oldest Sauna". There is a 101 facts about Finland video. Some have dared to take that on, but be warned, it took a toll on them: "101 Facts About Finland".

This was one of the earliest large concerts in Europe for Floor after ten months touring USA, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Lebanon, and small European venues. So she deserved to be introduced to the many Nightwish fans. Especially as she was singing songs beyond Anette's ability so reintroduced.

The speed issus is not because someone intentionally slowed the songs down. It's because of a framerate difference between NTCS and PAL formats between US and Europe, which are used notably in DVDs. NTSC (US) runs at roughly 30 frames per second. PAL (Europe) runs at 25 Frames per second. The US "Showtime, Storytime" Blue-Ray disc this show was released on had an issue where the framerate was wrong which means that the playback ran slower than it should. The DVD version was fine. As a result, videos extracted from the DVD version have the correct speed, while the videos extracted from the Blue-Ray version are too slow (unless corrected by other means afterwards).

Finland has a lot of wetlands but not many of them are actual swamps. Mostly it's mire(bogs, fens), these types accumulates peat(bog moss does it). And marshes. Many use word swamp for every wetland type but it means a type which looks like a flooded forest. Finland has some swamps, usually right next to rivers and creeks. When Finns say swamp they are really thinking about bogs. Fens might be so big you can't see other side of it. Also no snakes in the bogs. The European Adder dislikes water and prefers dry and warm spots with hiding places. Grass snake(only in southern Finland) however likes water adjacent wetlands but it's not poisonous.

Russia acting like the overzealous ex wanting to get back together makes people serve the conscription, so that if s#it hits the wall, we have an army of 290k (from a population of 5.5M!) and a reserve of almost 1M. That makes the ex think twice if it wants to knock on our door.

Floor had her first ever appearance with Nightwish on October 1st 2012. This show (Wacken Open Air) was the first BIG appearance for the European audience since she joined Nightwish. She did some smaller venues in Europe before Wacken: - November 4th 2012 in Manchester, England - November 5th 2012 in London, England - November 6th 2012 in Birmingham, England - November 7th 2012 in Glasgow, Scotland - November 10th 2012 in Helsinki, Finland These where all smaller indoor venues (except for Helsinki which was in Hartwall Arena - Ice stadium), but this (Wacken) was her GREATEST show in Europe - and what an impression she made.

The issue about Floor being new to the band is that this is around the time she was confirmed a member of the band, rather than a temporary hire to fulfil their tour schedule. This was not officially announced until October of that year; Wacken was in August.

Love your The Warning reactions Lanae! I saw them perform this song LIVE January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. They played 10 (of 13) songs off the QOTMS album. I was dumbfounded by their performance, and they have left me speechless after each of the 10 shows I've attended since. I am going to see them October 8th and 9th, 2024 in Los Angeles. 🗣 Can't wait! 👋☺️❤️
