@@uchijav There's a lot of ways to, I think I would've done: full charge tornado, OD mixer, OD dive kick, medium mixer, lvl 1 That combo usually does a lot, otherwise something simple like 5HP drive rush cancel into 2HP and repeat until you cancel into a standing lvl 1 which gives a lot more damage than an juggle lvl 1. I'll see if either of these would've killed in the lab.

My understanding is they have different ranges; light has longer range than medium, which has a longer range than heavy

For more advanced info, EX SPD range is between light and medium, and light SPD also has slightly better oki than the other ones, being +30 on hit. The other SPDs are all +28 on hit, so that’s another small advantage light SPD has over the others.

Seeing a grappler like Gief running across the screen just doesn't feel right to me, this game's mechanics are just bad. The drive rush just totally negates the fact that the SPD is supposed to put distance between you and your opponent, all for 1 bar. Just horrible. Gief players don't even have to play smart to get in on their opponents anymore. Knockdown, drive rush, in the opponents face 24/7

It's not really that bad. Zangief barely gets within poke range by the time the opponent stands and he needs it against characters like Sim or JP in this game. You think SPD drive rush is bad then go play GG where Pot gets a buster and just does hammer fall for free all the way back into buster range by the time you get up.
