Kobe clearly the best player in the league until 2010. People who say LeBron was the best when he stepped on the court in 2003 lost their mind. 2002-10 was Kobe

FlimFlamWop After Duncan? Are you out of your mind? Didn’t you watch how Kobe killed the Spurs at the 2001 WCF? How bout 2008? And even when the Spurs defeated the Lakers in 03 Kobe averaged 32ppg on that series.

JDot2423 I think he was the best player in the league until he went down in Golden State...If u ask me...I also think he was the best player in the NBA ever since game 4 of the 2000 Finals when he took over the game down the stretch, while playing on a bad Ankle...

Like the way Kobe played the game was pure poetry... you look at players like James Harden, Bradley Beal, Devin Booker and other wing scorers similar they just don’t play with the same skill or effortless excellence like Kobe did. He did shit that was hard and made it look beautifully easy.. watching him play the game there really won’t be another player like Kobe. LeBron scored a different way and it’s still effective but you’d fall in love with the game of basketball watching Kobe play.

I feel sad for people who just couldn’t/didn’t watch his career or aren’t privy to his highlights. Especially the ones who still like to have basketball discussions while haven’t really witnessed his greatness or the ones who minimize him.

Crazy how smart this man was, he knew to go hard at Shaq when he drives because Shaq won’t want to get dunked on so he fouls every time. You can see Kobe just dip his shoulder down every time

You see Kobe waving to Lebron from the bench at the end of the game. No matter how hard they competed they always respected each other. The real rivalry is between their fans. These guys never even met in the finals or playoffs. The rivalry was never between them.
@conorohara54815 жыл бұрын
LOL Kobe was saluting from a distance to Shaq. He didn't shake their hands because he was disgusted by Cleveland's flopping and the officiating.

Amazing how Kobe found space to dribble through 3 defenders and find the open man. Dam that was smooth.

It is because Lebron plays more in the perimeter with a lot of screens. This is effective in the regular season as opposing teams doesn't do well scouting it in advance, but in the playoffs, the defense can easily prepare for that. Thus, easily making Lebron James uncomfortable in the court. It doesn't take away anything about his talents, its more about his team's coaching stuff did not put him in the position where he can excel with that type of defense. Lebron, as talented as he is, never fully evolved as a player. Sure he now has a reliable jumper and 3 point shooting, but his style of play did not change, he is still playing in the perimeter. To me, what helped Lebron James excel and win a few championship is the CHANGE in the NBA rules. The changes in the rules helped extinc the post games thus eliminating the need for big men. Big men who coincidentally, are the ones who can normally stopped a freight train like Lebron James. Without good big men in the middle, Lebron thrive in the perimeter with his style of play. Unfortunately, as much as this rule change suited his style of play, there are others who benefited from this as well. The likes of Steph Curry, James Harden, Kevin Durant, Westbrook, and others are all benefitting from the lack of physical defense. It is unfortunate for Lebron because even though the rule already favored his style of play, he never fully dominated the NBA by winning multiple consecutive championships. He loses a whole lot.
