Kobe was starving in 2009. He was gonna get his one way or another. If the cavs had made the finals instead of magic, well....let's just say it's reaaaaally fortunate for LBJ's legacy that they didn't. Edit: Actually, during those 09 playoffs, I got the feeling that Celtics and Cavs both underperformed on purpose trying to DUCK Kobe and the Lakers. Everyone clearly saw the devil in Kobe's eyes that year, and neither Celts nor Cavs wanted anything to do with the Mamba. 1 of those 2 teams should have made the finals, not the Magic.....they let Dwight deal with the maniac that was Kobe Bryant.

nomooon what kind of reason is that? first of all, the MVP have NOTHING to do with the finals/playoffs. That would be the finals MVP and kobe didnt get it in 08 did he? And secondly, there are many players with multiple MVPs who had bad Finals/playoff performances or didnt even make it to the finals at all. U just made a pointless comment

MIchelKriz why does Kobe deserve more MVP awards? from whom should he take those awards? what years?

MIchelKriz and Shaq, the MOST PHYSICALLY DOMINATING center to ever grace NBA, has only ONE MVP...
@MIchelKriz10 жыл бұрын
nomooon How about Kobes 02-03 season? 30-7-6 and 2 steals? How about his 05-06 season? 35-5-5 not good enough because the team wasnt good enough. How about the 06-07 season with 31-6-5? the problem with MVPs is that its a team-award afterall, since only a player on a top3 team will win the award. So its not really individual output but about how many W a team has in combination with a top player. And yes, it is quite shocking also that shaq only has one. MVPs are pretty flawed in terms of legacy.

The reason why us Kobe fans love him so much and think he is the greatest: Look at the way he chooses his shots. He makes it seem as if every shot he takes, no matter what the defense gives him, is a shot he is looking for. Fade-away, long 2s, 3s, drive up the lane lay it in, Kobe had the COMPLETE package. This is what I like about Kobe that he always gave credit when and where it was deserved. I’m a huge Manu Ginobili fan and he truly was underrated. However, Kobe gave him a lot of credit saying that Ginobili, West, and himself were the same types of players. Kobe didn’t just throw out compliments to anyone. So, I think him respecting Ginobili and his talent on the court is everything!

He should have 3MVP’s 2002-2003 this Man Average 30PPG 7rebs, and 6AST on 45% fg, 38% 3pt fg, 84% ft, and 2.2 STL a game! First team all-NBA and Second team defense all-NBA... oh and played all 82 games! Only 24! If that ain’t the definition of robbed idk what is! Oh and Shaq only played 66 games, they have to give him that MVP! Plus in 2006-2007 47wins is good enough for an MVP, that’s 3 shy of a 50 win season with scrubs! Averaging 31.6 ppg, 5.4ast, 5.7 rebs, on 46% fg, 86% ft, All-NBA first team, first team defense All-NBA, and scoring 81 points! David Stern and the NBA never really like this man for some odd reason.

In Asia, Kobe is loved dearly. He'd still be getting MVP's today if the league was in Asia lol.
@jaxondakota70804 жыл бұрын
Your actually missing other seasons more notable for example 08-09 & 09-10. I believe he should’ve won MVP both of those years as he kept raising the bar for the NBA standard and he accomplished so much within those 2 years including winning the championship and finals MVP

Yeah the MVP could've went to either Kobe or ShaQ but shaQ was like the movie star of the team at the time so they decided to give the MVP to Shaq... based on his stardom.. I believe Shaq had stared in a movie around the time... i remember!!

And you talking about lebron being better than kobe ? omg the guy is phenomenon, he is unstoppable. Come on guys even in 2015 lebron dont plays against defensive like this. On kobe's prime guys like Battier tried to make anything to stop Black Mamba. Look at his hand omg , kobe blind shots !! THE MVP !

@RCortez19866 жыл бұрын
@Charalambos Hadji Its funny because a common misconception is that kobe is more of an assassin and a better scorer than lebron, yet lebron has averaged more points per game over his career. Lebron has a better 2pt FG% as well as a better 3pt FG% I think kobe just appeared to be more of a beast on offense because he took so many more difficult, well contested shots. It just looks more dominant when a single player is trying to score against an entire team. Lebron plays smarter and gets easier shots and creates easier shots for his teammates. Maybe that's why Lebron's 27 points a game doesn't look as good as Kobe's 27 points a game, because he does it easier and smarter. Lebron also was a better rebounder and a better passer. The only thing kobe had over lebron was better free throw shooting and he turned the ball over slightly less. Lebron gets more STEALS per game and more BLOCKS per game.
