Because he wasn't a player to take a bad team beyond it's place like Lebron. He was a killer who could take a great team to a ring.
@sandman13478 жыл бұрын
+amunrahll Simply not true. Lebron led Cleveland to the best record in the NBA back to back years in 09' and 10' before going to Miami. The year he left, that same Cleveland team minus him had the worst record in the league. Literally Lebron made the difference between being the best and being the worst. Then he spent 4 years in Miami and took that team to the finals every year while Cleveland was in the lottery every year. As soon as Lebron went back to Cleveland, they were back in the finals every year. Kobe doesn't make that kind of impact. When Shaq left the Lakers in 04', they went from 56 wins to 34 wins. Kobe missed a lot of time that year with injury but the team did not do any better when he was in the line-up. The following year, they were 45-37. Still not very good and they lost in the first round despite having Lamar Odom and some other decent talent. The Lakers didn't become a real contender again until they had Gasol and Bynum. In other words, Kobe did not win when the team wasn't stacked.

Just imagine if this man had a somewhat decent team around him or if Gasol came a couple years earlier. I feel sick to my stomach to know that his REAL prime was wasted on talent like this. You give him one all-star, and a couple role players, he would've had at least 7 chips...there was no player, or no TEAM that could've stopped him.

What Curry did the other night vs OKC was indeed special. Curry is a special player no doubt. And I will say that in my opinion, Curry is the greatest shooter in the history of the NBA. But what Kobe did against Memphis here is total destruction. He put in major work against them and no one other than Michael Jordan could do this.
@abualzuaree9 жыл бұрын
Kobe in his prime 2005-2007 was literally outscoring teams.. he was absolutely unstoppable
@taewiz8636 жыл бұрын
Agree. The problem I have with curry is that all he really is, is a great shooter. One of the best if not the best ever. But that’s it. Kobe’s offensive play was flawless in every aspect. Footwork, difficult shots, 3pt, mid range, post. He has one of the purest if not the purest jumper I’ve ever seen. His offensive catalog is rivaled by no one. And he’s a great defender as well. I personally think MJ was a better defender than kobe, but kobe was better offensively than Jordan(skill)

I mean I don't want to be disrespectful to Lebron or anything because he is great but I think Kobe in his prime woUld've won last years Championship vs Golden State and he wouldve limited Steph
@TheKingofKings22729 жыл бұрын
Who was playing for the Lakers in 2006? In 2012 Lebron had Mike Miller, Dwyane Wade, Shane, Chris Bosh enough said right there alone. All Kobe had that year in 2006 IN THE WEST was Lamar Odom, Luke Walton, and Andrew Bynum...who else Kwame Brown, Ronny Turiaf, Brian Cook?? The hell are you talking about comparing those two playoff years. Also Kobe also won a Gold medal. Lebron is great but in his prime vs Kobe I'm taking Kobe cause I know he can make those free throws and make that big shot. Lebron is a different story one night he'll make those big time tough clutch shots, next night he'll miss big time free throws and shots. Also he's never been a great 3 point shooter. Neither has Kobe to be fair
@TheKingofKings22729 жыл бұрын
dyodoublej Also what challenge was in the Eastern conference last year. What about 2007? Last year he didn't carry anyone until the finals
@Stickman7869 жыл бұрын
+dyodoublej you lied about kobes 2006 playoff stats. He averaged 28 ppg on 50% shooting... And don't compare lebron, whos had a cake walk in the east for most of his career. I'll give you one simple example. Prime wade and prime lebron are both on the same level with kobe so so theres virtually two superstars on the same level as kobe on one team plus Bosh = pau gasol. Lamar odom =? Bynum nonexistant cause of injuries. The west is greater the east yet kobe still had the same success as lebron, winning two championships. Kobe carried lesser talent in a harder conference than lebron. Kobe faced more 50 win teams in his 3 final appearances from 08-10 than lebrons 5 straight final apperances lmao. 2012 lebron had a superstar team around him in a weak conference, made it to the finals while kobe faced the second winningest team in the nba in the first round.
@TheKingofKings22729 жыл бұрын
+dyodoublej No you tried to be slick and compare ONE of Kobes prime years to ONE of Lebron's prime years only you said nothing about 2008 or 2009 or even 2010. The differenced between your comparisons and the problem with them is Kobe had a horrible below average team that year and Lebron and 3 point shooters post players and great defenders. OF COURSE Kobe doesn't hit all of his clutch shots but he has made some huge ones in his career. Same with Lebron. You just like Lebron better I love both of them I just think Kobe is better simple as that
@lioninthesun2 жыл бұрын
Prime Kobe was the perfect basketball player. The problem is he didn't have a long prime. Although he was great he was only prime from 22 to 28, injuries did affect his athleticism and that took him over the top.
