Actually, Kobe Bryant believed he would live forever! As a faithful Roman Catholic Christian, he confessed in every mass (including the one he and his daughter attended the very morning of their tragedy), "I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come." As all Christians believe and confess, we have eternal life because Jesus, in his death, paid for our sins, and by his resurrection opens the door for us to life eternal with him. My guest saw the shock on my face and I excused myself to take a moment of silence. When I got home I wept... I never met Kobe, obviously. But just from watching and observing others who did, or others who were obsessed with the man's unending charisma, motivation and the absolute love and positivity he spread. I've never been big into basketball - but one thing I do know - is Kobe was human. A man who grew up envisioning himself being the greatest, waking up every day to give it his all even on his worse days, lending a helping hand to someone and being better together, these are the things Kobe did and it's what made him human to even those who'd never seen him in person. Just by how some talk about him you can tell Kobe had this aura around him that encapsulated you and made you really sit back and just watch. Funny, determined, hardheaded and willfully strong Kobe did what Kobe loved doing. Kobe was Kobe and Kobe was a human. Like the rest of us. An extremely bright light that not only changed a lot of lives personally, but lives nationwide - rest in peace, Black Mamba. 🤙🏼
