Used to watch this video in my teen years. Was my favorite highlight clip reel, and still is to this day. Sad that today's events, with Kobe passing, are what had to drive me to come find this video again. RIP Black Mamba -- a legend! Kobe Bean Bryant.

Hard to imagine the NBA without Kobe. But it was the exact same way I felt when Magic retired the first time, there's always someone else who would come up in the future. But that's for later. Kobe's still playing for more rings. Go Kobe! Go Lakers!

@backtoshallabal666210 жыл бұрын
Thing is the Lakers were 45-37 in 2006. The Suns were actually better. If he had pushed them to 50 wins, he would have easily won MVP.
@backtoshallabal666210 жыл бұрын
phillyslasher Nobody looks on who you have on your team. Magic, Larry, and Michael won still won their MVP's while playing with their hall of fame teamates. Why? Because they probably led their team to the best record during that time. Look at LeBron. He had a bunch of no names on Cleveland, but how did he win MVP? Because he had over 60 wins. I just looked at the 2006 season standings. Lakers were 45-37(not bad), but a 7th seed. Now would you want someone who just sneaked into the playoffs win MVP? Kobe is my favorite so no disrespect there. Nobody looks at who's on your team. If you can lead them to victories, while contributing a lot, then you're probably going to win MVP. Kobe was probably top 3 in voting that year. So it's not that bad.
@backtoshallabal666210 жыл бұрын
so it's LeBron's fault that he plays in the East? Winning 50 games is not a cop out. Do you actually think it's easy winning games? How about this in 2007 LeBron brought his team to the Finals and demolished the Pistons? You may have a point of Kobe's team fighting in the East, but it is what it is. From your argument, it's like your telling me nobody in the East should win MVP because it's easy and all the awards should go to the West. And tell me. Jordan averaged 37PPG in 1987, but didn't win MVP. You know why? Because he had a 40-42 losing record. You know who won? Magic Johnson. You wanna know why? Because he had the stats and winning record. It's not all about stats. If that were the case Kevin Love should be the MVP. And if LeBron's Cavaliers weren't that bad, how come stats say LeBron has outplayed Kobe every time they've played?

Reading some of these comments make me realize that a lot of y'all don't know what the hell you're talking about. so you want to blame Kobe for the Lakers current situation for taking a contract that was offered to him to show appreciation for what he'd done for the franchise. even with Kobe is signing that contract the Lakers still had room to sign another max player or two. why do you think they went after Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James last summer? When Dr Jerry Buss died(R.I.P) and Jim Buss took over that's when the Lakers started deteriorating. the help Kobe Bryant asks for, they didn't give it to him. Starting with the coach. Kobe and some of the other players wanted Brian Shaw so they could continue to run the triangle offense. Jim Buss went with Mike Brown. then when it appeared Phil Jackson was about to return. Jim Buss went with garbage ass Mike Dantoni...... Oh yeah, and really let's not forget how David Stern and the NBA vetoed the trade for Chris Paul to come to the Lakers. how the hell are you going to take away a trade that was made a week earlier. that just goes to show you the politics of the NBA. most of y'all are not even Laker fans or the only Kobe Bryant you know about is from the last couple of years is because you're young as hell and you don't know shit

Kobe is my absolute favourite player in the nba. His determination, his will, his heart is unparalleled. Plus he has an unshakable belief in himself that makes him an assassin in the clutch. Make or miss he's willing to take the big shots to save his team. There's a reason coaches all over the NBA say they'd rather have Kobe take the game winner over everyone else. He may not have the same quickness and explosive leaping ability he had when he was younger but he's still my boy.

Always got to bring Michael Jordan up around Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan had to crawl back to the Bulls after baseball, cuz he knew he couldn't win out Pippen, and it showed when he went to the Wizards, this is about Kobe Bryant not the loser LeBron James, I wish people just talked about Kobe and quit talking about other losers, Kobe showed he was greater than any player
