Fun Fact: Kobe Bryant is the ONLY PLAYER IN NBA HISTORY to ever outscore an entire NBA team by HIMSELF through 3 quarters. Even the great WILT never did it, not even ONCE. This might very well be the most impressive scoring performance in NBA HISTORY. And he sat out part of the 2nd quarter! The GOAT!

@@JanRey526 Bro these people confuse the MAP for the ACTUAL TERRAIN. Let that sink in. Kobe had to be seen to be appreciated, you can't extract his genius, his greatness, his effervescence from a freaking box score. You had to SEE him to appreciate him. Lebron can never be on Kobe's level. I saw what I saw. Lebron's PED use is the only reason why he's even in this conversation but people don't want to have this conversation. I wouldn't even bring this up if his athleticism wasn't so central to his style of play but it is, and PEDs enhance athleticism not skill. Kobe is the GOAT imo. Bronsexuals and hardcore MJ stans are the only ones who say ret*rded stuff like "overrated." And Kobe OWNED Duncan in the playoffs. The Kobe-Hate has a few techniques: OVERRATE Kobe's supporting cast Call him "inefficient" Call him a "ball hog Call him a "bad teammate" Pretend like Pau is the player Anthony Davis is. I always have one simple question. Shaq had like 10 prime years, if not more, without Kobe. How come he could only win 1 ring without Kobe since he was gosh darn "dOmiNaNt?" And I love Shaq, top 10 player all time EASY. But the Kobe hate is so irrational we need to push back on that garbage.

Yeah but he didn't do it every time. The next time he faced the Grizzlies he scored just 13 points for 4 quarters on 38.5% shooting. You can look it up the date was February 1, 2002. Also the first time rookie shane faced kobe which was on November 9, 2001 Kobe actually only scored 13 points again on 5-15 shooting (33%). Also kobe didn't score over 60 in that game against rookie Shane, he scored actually 56 in 3 quarters on efficient shooting. He had it rolling that night. But overtime like Shane said, the numbers played in the defender's favour.

They tried everything double, triple teams and nothing helped. Same thing happens a few games later when he got 81 from the Toronto Raptors. Kobe was just unstoppable that season but Championships require consistency and will from the team. You don't have to have All Stars, but everyone has to be all in on the gameplan to get it done.

He deserved at LEAST 3, I would argue 5: 2006/2007, 2008, 2009/2010 (60+wins in the west, led the NBA in GW shots with 10, the literal difference between 1st seed in a stacked west and missing the freaking playoffs, oh and Pau missed like 27 games that year). MVPs are VOTED on. His 12 ALL NBA Defense Teams, MOST ALL TIME, should more than make up for it. MJ should've won like 10 MVPs, the award is a joke. Steve Nash has as many MVPs as Kobe and Shaq COMBINED because it's a JOKE of an award that undervalues defense.

Kobe had nights where he would just go off. But those nights where he would go off came at the expense of several games where he was way off. Kobe was unstoppable when he would get in that zone, but it wasn't something he could actually turn on every night. And when he couldn't turn it on he could have some highly inefficient scoring nights. People who regularly watched Kobe play knew this, including Shane Battier.
@tghetto5

@@kanajingly8957 I probably watched 75% of Kobe’s games. Watched every game certain seasons like 08-2010 never missed a game. I’m from Cali so I’m in the market. I’m not sure what you’re talking about? Making him sound inconsistent. Kobe just played in an inefficient era because the pace was so slow and most shots came against the set. But he almost always shot above league average fg% and TS% wise he’s right up there with most the volume shooters like Jordan, Tmac, Penny, Wade, Vince Carter, Arenas, etc. But yeah if you think he had a few good nights followed by a bunch of bad games you didn’t watch him. Or maybe you only watched him post 2012 after the injury.

It’s wild to me he didn’t go for Wilt’s record here. The way he ended the third he had so much momentum. 39 would’ve been tough but he could’ve gotten close as hell

Nawl kobe would have definitely dropped 90 plus if he played the 4th. He had more points this game in the 3rd than he did in the 3rd against the raptors
