So what do ya'll think? 📝📕 ⚠️I gave the other books a test as well to see the responsiveness, and it seems it was only the 'not another love song' book that froze up and took too long to change between chapters. ⚠️ I'm currently finishing the Chestnut Springs series on the Go Color 7 because the series was acting a bit strange as well, so I'll go back to it afterward since I have been buying some books on sale from kobo! I'll give a two month update. 🩷 🖊 ☆ I forgot to mention that the stylus battery life lasts just as long as the libra until I need to charge it again.. honestly, even longer! 10/10 * Sorry for the weird audio throughout the video. This won't be an issue for future videos *

Not everything needs ASMR and I wish reviewers could just unbox things like a normal person instead of a 7 year old with an urge to tap on everything. It looks silly and unprofessional.

Hi, thanks for your review! When sideloading books you have to covert the file to kebup and it will work a lot better with your Kobo. You can do this in Calibre with the Kobo TouchExtended plugin. Then when you send books to your Kobo it will convert it to kebup and it should run better ☺️

thank you for your review! i'm watching as many as i can before i finally buy it haha. i've heard that if you convert your epubs to kepubs on calibre before sideloading them, they shouldn't lag as much :) there are definitely some pros to the bigme over this but i use android for my phone and laptop so i would prefer a device with a simpler UI, and i also don't like the idea of my books being all on different apps, rather than in one place, same with the boox devices, but it was great to see the comparison!

Thank you for your reviews! I've been in-between the Kobo Libra Color and the Onyx Boox Go Color 7. I have been deadset on the Kobo purely for the annotation features but after reading PCMag's reviews and watching your videos it's made me rethink my decision. I'm not necessarily deadset on color E Ink tech but the wider range of choices you can read books from with the Boox is what's really selling me on it. I don't want to feel limited to one ecosystem and want to keep my options open. I will still probably buy a Kindle Paperwhite for the battery longevity later down the road for traveling and on-the-go reading, but so far the Boox e-reader seems like the best first choice for someone who wants all that e-reading has to offer.

No problem! I definitely understand! I still love my Kindle, and I'm currently using it since it pairs well with audible, of course, but I always recommend having either a Kindle or kobo depending on your region and an android based ereader! 🤍🤍

Ahhhh! I'm so happy I could be of service! 🫡 I just finished a 5 book series on the boox Go Color 7 and didn't encounter any issues. Now that I use the built-in in onyx reader app, it allows more annotating options like underlining and such!

YES! Your reviewing the Kobo Libra Color! This is great! I was thinking of switching from my old Kindle Oasis 9th gen to the Kobo since I want drm free books and stuff and want to take off the drm off my kindle books since I don't want amazon to change my covers and stuff! I actually bought the Clara first but it got a dead pixel within the FIRST day so I returned it. So I hope when I get the Libra Color that it doesn't happen! I plan on getting the standard official Kobo Libra Stylus Cover. However as I'm watching you mentioned an issue with the Kobo Libra Color and having trouble lagging on books. Are you saying that if for example i were to transfer my kindle manga to the kobo that it will lag? Also are you saying that it will lag on fanfiction I download on AO3?

I'm glad I uploaded it now during the black Friday deal! The Kindle books I transferred over didn't give me any issues. It was just the one from a website I found. But someone said to change it to kepub, so I'm gonna change that and see if the book that was giving me issues will work better now with no lag!

The freezing and lagging is pretty normal for all Ereaders, especially the ones you can write on.

naahhh. haven't heard that with the scribe and I have the bigme b751c and that hasn't lagged or frozen up on me. BUT I will say that kindles have frozen on me more than any other ereader I've tried so far.

I agree! I'm not s big fan of annotating with a stylus anymore. Gets in the way of enjoying the book and there's enough space at times which make my writing ugly since I write with big letters.

Prolly depends if you want something easier on the eyes (any e-ink is better than regular screen), or if you want the colors to be vibrant (e-ink is less bright but it still looks very nice if u ask me)

Hi! I cant decide between the kobo libra 7 and the boox go colour 7. Ive been watching many reviews and still cant decide. Anyway someone could help me? I like the design of the kobo and the boox too!! But in terms of downloading books for free, which is easier? And does the reading feel the same? Is the format and everything the same?? why can’t you use MagSafe grips or rings? It looks like the ones you’re using are MagSafe.

You can use them. However, in Settings, you should turn off the sleepcover magnet wake up. Otherwise, the magnet in your pop socket will constantly make the device software think you're flipping open a sleepcover.
