FACTS. There are entire vacant street blocks, dilapidated homes, and distressed commercial properties everywhere in downtown.

First things first… the homeless issue needs to be solved… otherwise those properties will not stay in business… the reason they close is because of the homeless issue and how they loiter on properties and causes a loss incoming customers and a huge hit to reoccurring customers… start at the root of the issue and then think of this, please.

This acrually IS a step toward changing that issue. Vacant buildings like this are frequently broken into and used as shelter. By reposessing them, they will be able to have a new business enter the place and prevent that from continuing.

@@Nytrolizer what I mean is businesses have been affected by the homeless problem prior to them becoming vacant. I saw this first hand with Little Anita’s and the Range including the Village Inn on menaul and Carlisle. They lost clientele because of the homeless issue… then they became vacant because no one did anything about it.

LOL! Show us the data on how 'successful' this program has been...show the number of properties involved and how many have been refurbished. (You won't.) This is another example of a political hack who knows nothing about real estate pretending like he does, in order to keep his job. Pathetic. The real reason for all the boarded up properties is the CRIME! ..and guess what? Old Town is next on the list for future boarded up properties.
