Hand sanding in circles is inefficient. Along with applying pressure while sanding. Hand sanding should be done in straight lines, then you switch your direction by 90deg when you move up in grit. This allows you to see where you’ve been. As for applying pressure: it is not how hard you press down, it is how many times you go back and forth over the spot- so repetition is more important than pressure. And lastly- wool does not create more heat- it runs more cool than foam, it cuts more due to the fibers as they are naturally more abrasive.

Why not just open the bonnet when working on the headlight?

I like to keep it closed to avoid having to clean the engine compartment, but that’s just me. Valid question 😅

Mainly because we had already cleaned it. Plus, those headlights really stick out.

Interesting series. What are you using to protect the polished headlight lenses?

HLP2 has a protection built in. However, we will be using a coating when we coat the body in a later video.
