Hey, Max! I can tell you put a lot of effort into these videos and that's probably why I enjoy them so much. Keep up the good work 😊👍

Using the same camera for both film stocks is something I wish more people doing these kind experiments would adopt. I would love to one for Lomo 100 and Pro Image 100
@dedclownsRfunny10 ай бұрын
Pro Image 100 would be less saturated and less contrasty IMO. Closer to Kodak Gold than to Lomo 100. Just observation from only a couple of rolls
@sadboi8810 ай бұрын
I have shot both but I really enjoy these comparison videos. Personally I like Pro Image a lot. To Me it is more neutral than the other consumer Kodak films but a bit more contrasty than porta. I haven't shot Lomo 100 as much but to Me it looks very similar to Gold

@@sadboi88 from memory I think the Lomo 100 was a bit less gold-toned than Gold. I quite liked it, I do remember that

@@sadboi88 but yeah I also enjoy the comparo vids. I could prob do them myself but I’m not a professional photog 😂

@@dedclownsRfunny Yeah, Having had a look through some of the photos I shot with last year, the golden hue isn't as intense. A theory I have seen is that the lomo 100, 400 and 800 are Kodak stocks that are only used in their disposable cameras and that they are older formulations. It gets even murkier because the scanner used can impact the colours and contrast. I liked Lomo 100 but ultimately I would chose any of Kodak's available stocks due to being more expensive per roll and the low Iso not being ideal for uk weather. I will only really use Pro Image for bbqs and beach days because it's really nice for portraits and I generally go through a roll quite fast because people like the novelty of having their photo taken on film haha

They are very hard to tell apart. I think I like ColorPlus only because I find Gold a little too gold (yellow) Great video.

This was a perfect comparison! Comparisons between identical shots was perfect. This is the kind of video that really immerses you and makes you forget you’re watching one. Great stuff Max!

Hue is the least of my problems with modern editors. If desired, simply make a preset that will take out some of the hue for each image. Latitude and grain are more important parameters. And PRICE.

Kodak Color Plus is the old VR-G, which became the original Kodak Gold 200. Meaning early 1980's look. On your photos, I prefer Gold by a bit. Gold has better contrast.

Nowadays there is no such thing like "budget film"!! IMO Kodacolor AKA ColorPlus is only a bit worse than Gold.

True! These two are near enough as close to Kodaks ‘budget’ film stocks as there is these days.

Pushing and pulling isn’t the same thing as over and underexposing…
@maxkent Жыл бұрын
Yeah, but with pushing or pulling you’re deliberately under or overexposing film and then developing it for different amounts of time than usual. Sorry if I didn’t put it across properly though! Basically, Colorplus isn’t as flexible or versatile in that respect.
@joefrengley Жыл бұрын
@@maxkent pushing and pulling only refers to the development. yes you are right that it would be considered more common to underexpose and push or over expose and pull. however the two are completely mutually exclusive. you can over expose however much you want and still pull push the film in development. granted you probably wont get an image. the two terms should NOT be used synonymously. Because they cant be used interchangeably when talking about technical aspects of photography. if the purpose of your channel is for education on film photograph i would suggest that you take care when using push and pull. it is a very common point of confusion among beginner photographers. using it in this context only adds to that confusion

Hey Max! for a show in a Stadium what is better? Gold, Colorplus or Ultramax. I need help with this, please. 🇧🇷🤍
@Icecube0958 ай бұрын
I'd recommend UltraMax 400 as the higher ISO allows for faster shutter speed, which will in return make it easier to capture fast moving scenes 🙂 If a higher budget is possible I'd take the Portra800, but it is double the price of an UltraMax 400
