Thanks for all the useful info. One little trick worth mentioning also is that activating the flash also changes the aperture from f11 to f8! so you'll get a brighter shot even if the flash doesn't reach your subject

Yes very good call out! I wish I knew that when I made the video!! Really neat when you need that extra 1 stop of light 🥰

I just got my H35 a few weeks ago and am so excited to see the first results. But wow, shooting 72 pictures really takes a while (luckily of course). So I'm super grateful for all related videos that you post. Thank you for your great content and amazingly produced videos ☺️

Man, I've been flirting with shooting film for a bit and have quickly learned that it's a privilege to do so. I live in a rural area where the only place within 60mins to get film developed is Walmart - something I didn't want to do in the first place. Not sure if the hobby is worth the investment and time for me, unfortunately.

dang sorry to hear that! I know there's some film labs that take shipments of your film, but that definitely adds to the price :( I hope you're able to dip your toes into film one day!

Chiming in as a film photography old-timer here. Many people in my camp might be thinking half frame what's that? Some newfangled gen z idea?? As a reminder half frame start of its life way back in the 60s with the Olympus pen. And as far as resolution of the half frame goes. It is going to be about the same size as the old 110 film. So if you got a decent picture out of that you will probably get a decent picture out of the half-frame 35.

This was so helpful! This camera is my intro to film. I just got my first roll developed and had soooo many dark indoor shots. Looking forward to seeing how my next roll comes out!!!!

Good luck with your next roll! Film is definitely a learning process, and even years later I’m still learning from my mistakes 😂

Haha it’s still useable, just not the most accurate 😂 and if anything pressing it to your face will at least stabilize it a bit

thanks man!! this is so informative ◡̈ got mine today and I was wondering if it’s okay to leave unloaded film inside after taking a picture and then just load it once you’re ready to use it again? i don’t know if my question makes a lot of sense 😂 but thanks anyway man!!

Haha sorry I have no idea what you’re asking, okay so “load/unload” means completely removing the canister out of the camera. Or do you mean “wind” as in winding up the next shot to be taken? If load: then don’t take out the canister until it’s completely used up/if you for some reason wanted to end the roll early If you meant wind up: Only wind up when right before you take a picture :) Hopefully one of those answers your question 😂

I have a walkthrough tutorial on how to use/load/unload the camera! Maybe that will answer your question!

Mine came earlier! Excited to use and shoot photos with it. Anw, question is if I buy 27exp film and will detach/unload it from the camera, since it's a half camera, should I also rewind it twice the amount of the exposure? Or same as it is? Feels like a nonsense question but can't help to still ask anyway. 😅

Same as is! :) it’s consuming the usual amount of real estate on film so it’s the same!

Do some labs refuse to develop half frame? Is it more expensive to develop?
@Anjroo
@Anjroo Ай бұрын
If the lab gives you issues with half frame they are not a good lab to use! The dev process is the same, and when scanning they can simply scan two images in one. It’s the same exact amount of labor as a normal 35mm, so they shouldn’t give you any grief :)

I've just sent my first film away and been told it is totally empty, the film has nothing on it. How could this have happened? Could it be the camera itself or my error?
@Anjroo
@Anjroo 11 күн бұрын
OH NOOOOO. So sorry that happened! The most common reason for a blank roll is not loading it correctly, so the film never got exposed in the first place, or the opposite, it was entirely exposed to light :(
