There’s a hipster vibe to this one Mr. R You’re showing the kids the way here The Retinette is photographing the streets beautifully. Nice work. Encore!

Haha. Just checked what i was wearing and it didnt do the camera justice. Need to upgrade to some hip-er clothes. Not the easiest street photography camera but fun none the less. 😁

What an excellent and varied set Roberto! It looked as though it is an area with a lot of potential for future visits, you're lucky to have it nearby. I suspect that the money that you save on travel costs can be put towards film processing and satisfying your old camera habit. The pictures of Jerry, particularly in the doghouse (surely not??!!) were great.

Thanks. Sydney has plenty to offer before i start trecking the world. Travel is so risky. Govt changes the rules at the drop of a new varient. For some reason Jerry loves film. Ive only taken a few but every time she does the best poses. Thats her thunder house 😆 when it storms she hides in there

I love this one. So many interesting shots. Great composition . Great subjects. The Fortune of War pic is excellent, quite a few pics that capture the history and tell a story . Well captured 👌👏👏👏👏👏🎅🎅

I think these were excellent photos Roberto. This camera is definitely a keeper. Next time I would use a film speed that was more current for the time these cameras were common, so ISO 100 or even lower. (if you want to get out of the f22 range)
@robdido3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Spot on the 400 speed was not the right one. I wanted c41 film so local lab could process it and illford only do 400 b/w. This year im going to try processing film myself with that df96 chemical. Happy ny

I remember these housing commission buildings, someone we knew was renting a room there, 60 seconds to the water, we couldn't believe they were houso's. They finally tore them down hey?
@robdido3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I think last year big hoohaa about it. They are refurbishing them for the mega rich. Nice views while they had it 😆

Very good exposures! Straight out of the camera or did you edit after scanning the negatives? Digital darkroom. Either way, great job! Really nice compositions!
@robdido Жыл бұрын
Yes. I think I did vignette on most and a slight contrast adjust and crop to taste. And I remember a diorama effect on that pub photo. My last vids with Fujifilm I didn't edit any. Always learning 😆

I liked your shots in this video. Who was the girl in front of the modern "eye" sculpture prancing and posing? At first I thought she was a model you'd hired. Maybe she was just a rando camera hog? Hah! You really did some trekking for this vid. Enjoyed learning and seeing more about your city. I just got one of these Retina 1A cameras for Christmas. At first I thought I'd just chuck it in the basement but doing research they seem to be quite good with a unique lens. Not sure I'd pop for the new meter you have. Mainly I've because I've got two or three handheld light meters of my own. In any case I look forward to seeing more of your shots and the doggy too. Thanks for taking the time.
@robdido3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Russ. Appreciate it. Yeah she looked like a model, started strutting in front of me so had to keep the camera rolling lol 🤣 dont bother with light meter.. shot all day on f16 1/250. You will have fun. Surprisingly good lens. My viewfinder is foggy so hard compising

Forget it Roberto, I’m not going to be doing film for a while, too expensive, I shot two rolls of film just to test the Olympus OM-1 (works great) and between buying the two rolls, processing and scanning it cost me over $50 (US), if I only shoot two 36 exposure rolls per week (which I can easily do) it’s around $2,600 a year, I can buy another Fuji with a lens for that money (haha). Nice video and some very good captures by the way. As always, be well, stay safe and happy new year.
@robdido3 жыл бұрын
😆 yeah. More than anything its the pain of finding a local developer. I few experiments here and there is fun but your right i wouldn't do it full time. Bloody expensive. Cant imagine how it was pre digital. Thanks for the support this year. HnY 👍
@Enrique-the-photographer3 жыл бұрын
@@robdido Roberto, that’s all I get, “thanks for the support this year”, I don’t even get the a Sony A7-IV as a token of appreciation? (LOL). To answer your question about film before the digital era, film was inexpensive (the non professional stuff) and there were many “one hour” photo places (including Walmart) that would charge you $0.16 (US) per 4X6 photo (and you got your film back), I went to Walmart last week to ask and now it takes six weeks to get it processed and you don't even get the film back.
@robdido3 жыл бұрын
Haha. Camera conspiracies is handing out Sony's. Australia not too bad with film. My camera store does 2 days negatives plus scanned and emailed 24exp for $13aud. Pretty 👍

Same here. Needed glasses and the glare. Unless its mission critical sunny 16 is good enough. Waste of money 😆
