Kodak: Sigma 18-35 on the Canon R6

The Canon R6 is a great full frame camera for video and the Sigma 18-35 is a great video lens for crops sensor cameras. Can the two be a good cinematic combination? Hopefully this film will help answer that.

Honestly using the crop mode on the R6 is quite underrated, it really comes in handy when I want to get closer but am too lazy to switch lenses. I personally wouldn't use a crop lens on my R6, but the sigma 18-35 for sure is a fantastic lens as you've demonstrated. Great footage!

Thanks Rocco! Crop mode is definitely a useful tool whenever I need it. Yeah I usually use my Sigma 24-70, but I wanted to try the 18-35 to see how it holds up. I’ll dive into it more in the follow up video I have coming out soon.

Thanks! It does automatically crop when you attach the lens. I don’t believe you can disable the crop.

If your firmware is up to date on the lens, it will auto crop. If it's outdated (not sure which version) it won't recognize. Mines outdated and I'm keeping it that way so I can still use uncropped at 28mm+

How the afc work sir? Is it work well as other ef lens? Thinking to buy it with the R7 but not sure how is the afc for video works

Continuous autofocus is great! Didn’t notice any issues with it. Should be a great lens to adapt to the R7
