I became paralyzed in October of 2017 and I remember finding this video a long time ago, prior to the injury. But I found it again today, 10ish months down the road, and it made me smile so much. I cried throughtout the whole video tbh. I'm not paralyzed, I'm not a crybaby, but I'm a feeling, empathic person. Tho I don't wanna come off as if I could understand the struggle, because *I know I cant.* (I hate it when people claim that, but then don't have the same or a similar disability now or in the past, or someone in their family that is on the same journey - I am that person minus the outrageous claim, I don't have a story to tell, I just came in because this video +song touched me deeply; and your comment did as well. Keep fighting the good fight.) The video to me, simply put, is a beautiful framing of the human condition, of the burning will to achieve something you dream of, one way or the other, or die trying. That's what made me cry, in essence. The sheer amount of the beauty of perseverance. So beautiful that it hurts. I love you all. Never give up.

This hits me really hard.. a year and a half ago I was just starting my senior year, my first month of high school since I was homeschooled for all of it. Just moved out of my parents home and claimed independence. Running everyday and building a stronger future for myself. But.. then September 24th 2017 I was diagnosed with non epileptic seizures. I couldn’t run, couldn’t go to school, I couldn’t even type too fast on the computer without seizing. I was in a wheelchair for six months until I got sick and tired of not being in control. I started working out against my dr’s suggestion. 3 months of intense physical therapy and I was walking on my own again without seizing. A year and a half later I’m a whole state away from home living independently and in a job that I love. This hits home so hard for me. No matter your disability, physical or mental, don’t let that stop you. Don’t let that hold you back. You may have to modify things, but that doesn’t mean you can’t accomplish things you could before. Small steps are huge ones in the end. Fight on and don’t give up hope on yourself.

This song mean so much to me. I always remember my grandfather who was horce racer and coach legend. He loves horses more than anyone else and he gives them everything what he had. I am so sorry that I never met him. He died on heart attack in stables with his beloved horses. At least i know how kind and funny this small gentleman was from TV and books :). R. I. P.
