sure reliable lil' heaters. If using bulk propane tank and extension hose, make sure to install the metal filter they offer for such use. Those bulk tanks have lots of minute' crap in them that clogs the Buddy Heaters.

I just tried my portable Buddy Heater in my tent yesterday with a one pound cylinder and it worked very well. I only have to put the heat between lo and high and yesterday morning it was in the 20s.

Nice work MAV, very good advice. I was just out yesterday in Southern AZ, Mearns quail hunting and camping in the back of my truck which has a camper shell. It was supposed to rain the last day of the hunt but I woke up to 4 inches of snow and whiteout conditions. When you have the right gear, it takes all the uncertainty out of the equation. I had debated getting a little buddy heater for years and after watching your video it's on my to do list. Warming up a tent or truck an hour before getting out of bed is a big plus. Nothing worse than putting on ice cold & wet: pants, jackets and shoes after being in a warm sleeping bag all night. I would offer one suggestion that I think helps. I add a cheap thin pair of jersey gloves when I cold weather sleep. Having a hat, socks, and gloves allows me to use the mummy bag as a blanket rather than sleeping in a cocoon. Helps with being able to move freely at night.

Lil Buddy heater warms up the tent in 15 min or less. An hour would help warm & somewhat dry damp clothes.

If you can do a planar diesel heater, that would be better because it's dry heat. You can hang wet clothes in your tent overnight with that diesel heater going and it'll dry your stuff out overnight. It'll dry out the condensation of a canvas tent too so you're not cursing having bought one trying to pack it up. I'm a small woman. I can't move them waterlogged.

So I put up my brand new Kodiak flex bow canvas tent in back yard. Been raining for about 3 hours now. I went into the tent and the wall where the door and the window is on the opposite side of the "porch" side is soaked and wet on the INSIDE of the tent. The condensation is very thick and wet. I even feel cool condensation on the floor around there. And door and window is securely closed. All other walls and ceiling are dry inside except that whole section of the window and door that is exposed to the rain - and even the cloth between the door and window and around (dark cloths). I am major disappointed because I have read dozen of reviews that say after several days of major down pours of rain, the tents are bone dry inside. Well mine is not on that side. I will have to make shift a tarp over that if I go camping.

You should contact the dealer or store you purchased from. I recently heard of this leaking problem occurring in the area you described with new tents purchased in 2024. Perhaps there is a manufacturing defect or Kodiak factory missed something there. My 10x10 has never leaked, even after 7 years of hard use. However, in torrential rains and especially if snow accumulation is forecast, I put a poly tarp over the tent.

@@MavHntr I tried calling Kodiak several times today; however, only voice mail. Will send email. I am so disappointed that they dissed the 2024 models!! Not cool. This morning I went out and it was bright and sunny and dry and very cold all day today and the tent is bone dry with every square inch. Someone told me that a first rain will help it and then tent will swell and then be good from then on. However, it was just that section of the dark canvas to include door and window on exposed side. I will continue to reach out. Thank you for replying to my comment. I LOVE the tent, by the way. Everything else is perfect.

remember, the Turkey Day holiday is upon us this week. For many companies, next week should be better for customer service requests. Set my tent up today, looked at that area. You might try a seam sealer working into the stitching there on the lower portion of the dark material area. And true, the first good wetting of the Kodiak canvas tent, whether from rain or hose in the backyard, will help seal, shrink the canvas threads & spacings tight. I prefer the garden hose down over rain as the water is much cleaner. Rain could be contaminated & dirty depending on your area. I did this 7 years ago the first time I set up my 10x10 tent. Chose a hot, sunny day as it dries the canvas tight and fast!

@@MavHntr Well Kodiak returned my call. She mentioned to apply a water hose to that portion of the tent (the whole side where the canvas is dark and includes the door and window) from top to bottom from side to side. She said after that, take a picture or two on the outside what the water beading looks like so they can see if the "waterproofing" has been done sufficiently. What ever that means. LOL So I will do this today with the water hose. Thank you again for your replies and help. I want this thing to work and so at least they are working with me. Happy Turkey Day to you!! I’ve used a few cots over the years. Had 2 Cabelas, worked great once put together, which was a pain in the rear. Past 2 elk seasons, used a cot sold by Teton. Goes together easy, very supportive. Also use an air mattress or 3” memory foam with quilted mattress cover for some cushiness and a great nights sleep.

Why don't you keep the heater on all night

Since I use a bulk propane tank 90% of the time camped, that is certainly an option if Little Buddy heater is set on low. If using one of those 16oz disposable tanks, it will run out of gas during the night. Was camped out in single digit temps, 20mph+ winds overnight and did just that. Ran the heater throughout the night on low. However, would unzip a window to open about 5" for extra ventilation for fumes to escape the tent, at least window was screened when partially unzipped. But this let very cold air flow into the tent as well. I just prefer to use the heater before bed for a few hours then turn off when tucking myself into the sack for the night. Turn back on in the morning, 10 min later it's warm in the 10x10 tent. But always have the upper 2 tent vents open.

Well bud you could sleep in that tent with no heat and be fine with the clothing u have on..I'd actually get to warm to sleep with all that, and I have lots of experience sleeping in cold, I grew up living in a house with no central heat of any kind from time I was 8 or 9 until I was 13 so like 4 or 5 years every winter it was colder in my house lot of time than it was outside!

for sure, and I have many times over the years. But at my senior age, having a heated tent in the morning wake up and evening before bedtime sure is nice 😊. Improves the mental aspect to remain sharp for the duration of a long hunt.
