Queria poder treinar essas técnicas nos dias de hoje , lembro quando fiz judo aos 10 anos em 1989 e hoje com 39 faço jiu jitsu , mas a técnica tradicional é uma raridade

Thanks for this, one of the few places I’ve seen good teaching on KZbin for Newaza and all together. I’m gonna self teach myself Judo in between my shoulder injury (unrelated) and something I’ve been meaning to get back to as well. Was this by Kodokan itself? Is there a newer, 1080p DVD version I can buy online ?

i was thinking of self teaching myslef too since there is no other option for me, have you done any traning after a year? if yes how is it going for you? thinking of buying a grappling dummy and try to do these techniques on it.

In the year of 1924 Kano succeeded to exclude Kosen judo style from main stream by banning Pulling guard and other similar moves which are Kosen guys' primary strategy against Upright posture guys who are loyal to Kodokan Modern Judo started from here in a sense

I just stumbled over this video, but I do think it goes back to the days of the Gracie challenge. This is back in the days when Judo wasn't restricted by a set of rules, but by your imagination. I could say that some transitions from a pin into a submission isn't fully explored, but overall the video still is a very good instruction into the principles of ground grappling. Still, the named techniques aren't the end-all. I seem to remember that Te-Gatame was another word for Omoplata, as an example among many. And I cannot keep from thinking that the Kata-Gatame is more commonly known as an arm-triangle or a side-choke and is mainly used as a choke-hold, and not a pin. The difference between gatames and jimes are hazy at best. Edit: The version of Omoplata is called Te-Guruma. (Udeahashi-) Te-Gatame is a version of the standing Kimura.

Helio modified the hell out of this kodokan stuff and made it work for Brazil street application situations. Then brought his Gracie style to the USA and the rest is history but sports Bjj is returning to Kodokan style in the form of nogi with heavy emphasis on leg locks.

What did Helio modify, specifically?

Notice that this is Kodokan Judo. Not Kosen Judo

Kosen are rules, not a style. Kosen rules are part of Kodokan. In Judo there is only Kodokan.
