The latest carbon fiber wheel created for the Koenigsegg Regera goes beyond the pure functional engineering of the previous CF wheel and adds design elements that can't be done in aluminum.

the fact that he is explaining all those stuff and he allows his cars to be filmed at the production stages shows how much self-esteem and self-confidence he has about his ideas and his engineerging. He is sure that noone can replicate his ideas easily....

Sirion "Just flashy toys" Have you even seen the Agera R? Or the One:1? Those cars are the closest thing you can get to a race car. Completely track focused. Also, in order for them to continue their business, the cars would have to be durable. More so than a generic production vehicle. And I wouldn't technically call them "not cost effective". They are million dollar hyper cars that outperform any other car in its category. Koenigsegg is a special gem, in that it out classes it's own automotive genre, while constantly improving it.

I can listen to CVK talk all day. Don't think there is another car brand CEO/Founder that is as technically inclined about so much of his cars details as he is. The only other CEO/Founder that comes close is Mr. Horacio Pagani but Pagani's aren't as unique as Koenigsegg's with respect to in-house manufacturing.

Gosh this man is a genius.
@danfrederiksen16077 жыл бұрын
He does some good work but an actual genius would understand how aerodynamically significant the shape of the rim is and not design it like that. A real genius would also long ago have recognized that the combustion engine is dead instead of doggedly holding on to it like he has and still does. It kills his credibility as a technology leader and only impresses the too vin too diesel crowd. Not the intelligent among us. He's the Trump of the automotive world. Fairly popular but wrong.

@Noi5ee7 жыл бұрын
Dan Frederiksen If you are going do bash anyone for not moving on from combustion engine start with the big international car brands, those that have been in the game for 100+ years and have all the resources and manpower to move forward, still not one of them has brought out a serious contender. And yet you bash on a small company specializing in lightweight hypercars.

Dan Frederiksen The camless engine, which is his idea which GM people laugh, is going to exist now. I have to say that is one of the best tech car engine history and so excited for it. Whats special that its going to be on a v8, which I am a diehard for.

The GT350 R carbon wheels cost around 7 grand a piece if you buy them direct from Ford, but that's if you just want to buy them outright. If your actually damage your own gt350r wheels they are probably a little cheaper. Even at 7 grand I bet they are cheaper than the Agera/Regera, they are smaller and not a hollow body design.

Other manufacturers have thought of it too, of course. Bugatti put some on the Gran Turismo Concept, but they made it differently, only the outer partt of the rim is carbon fiber. Why? Well, they said, that carbon fiber rims brake under high temperatures coming from the brakes. There are hundreds, if not thousands working in the R&D in companies like Ferrari, Porsche or Bugatti and does really someone believe, that no one have thought of it? Koenigsegg is way too hyped on the internet.
@neoanderson34245 жыл бұрын
I still cringe about carbon fiber wheels. Supercar disk rotor can glow from stopping at high speed and carbon fiber are not fire proof. But koenigsegg has a solution for that, amazing what technology can overcome.
