Yes. Older KOF matches are usually better in offline setups. They did improve netcode for UM but it's still not comparable.

There is a reason. 2002 um has almost zero playerbase left in most countries unfortunately. And you understand the more active playerbase makes stronger opponents.

Correct. And almost all the participants were playing the game after years. 2k2 UM is not alive in most countries. Everybody is playing modern titles now a days.
