Being that the Next% are predominantly a road racing shoe, not surprising that you felt the cushioning on a downhill course. I ran with them in Chicago 2019, they were just perfect for me to keep landing barely on mid foot. 3:13:36 for me also a BQ, massive gains from 3:40:02 in Berlin 2018. Great video. Thank you.

Amazing video and fantastic race! (Turns out that the Pacific Northwest has pretty spectacular weather from May - October...but don’t tell anyone! 😀 ) At a 2000 foot drop, no uphills, and running at low-3 hour pace, the course probably gives you around 15 seconds per mile, so you would have still BQ’d on a flat course. That’s great! One small suggestion- always make sure you have elapsed time as one of your data fields.

Congrats again, I was so excited about your BQ that I even told my wife, although she had no clue what I was talking about😂😂😂 It would be nice if you could do a recap of your (short) training plan. What surprises me the most is that you didn’t seem to have had many speed workouts in prep for this race, despite the week in Arizona with loads of hills... I am following another youtuber who had a much more robust training plan (since Oct18) and failed two attempts for Boston this year. The main difference between you two seem to be the weekly milage, which makes me believe more and more that is a huge factor when aiming fast 26.2s. Anyways, congrats, congrats, congrats, can’t say that enough!!! And thanks for carrying us with you through this amazing season!!!
@kofuzi5 жыл бұрын
I will have something like that coming up soon. Many Chicago training plans have started this week. But my training plan for Chicago won't start for another 7 or 8 weeks. I think weekly mileage is key. Keep in mind that I'm no coach. But speedwork, as far as the marathon is concerned, is more about confidence.
@scottallison34895 жыл бұрын
If I did the math right it looks like you improved your PR by between 8-9%. That's huge! Glad to see the hours of hard work and the miles in all sorts of weather gave you the opportunity to hit and exceed your goal. 👍

Congrats on the BQ, man. That's really awesome. Didn't even know you're 39 already. You look so young. I think there's still a lottery on who gets to run the Boston Marathon so good luck with that. I think with your qualifier time for your age range should almost guarantee you get a spot. Keep up with the great content.
@kofuzi5 жыл бұрын
i thought it was strictly time based, so i'll have to look into that
@WawaSC5 жыл бұрын
@@kofuzi Yeah. It's mostly time based but I think they still segment it. Like, those who get sub 3:00:00 gets priority. Then if there's space, they open it up to sub 03:05:00 or something like that. Never done the run but this is what I saw on their site. You'll still get in, though. Sub 03:02:00 is not easy.
