By the way Explosion and Misty Explosion now halve the defenses. Physical defense for regular explosion, special defense for misty explosion. They will halve the defense based on which explosion is being used. That’s why Alolan Muk and Arcanine died.

I don't think you need to worry so much about the specifics of the content. At the end of the day we watch for your personality so I think going in blind first gives us the raw reactions and then counter teaming after lets you show off the big brained chizzy we all know and love so that's the best of both worlds

'how do i deal with Nihilego' - Perrserker immidately came to mind. It didnt get buffed a lot at a first glance, but it got Bullet Punch - that is boosted by Steelworker - and Fake Out, so baisicly you get /insane/ priority, bullet punches that put Scizor to shame I trained it up just cause I like it as a mon, possibly my fav from gen 8 - but it came in so clutch in /many/ boss battles

PLEASE keep going in blind. I don't see the meaning of reading up and counter teaming unless ur nuzlocking, it really ruins the immersion of "hardcore mode". At least that's what I feel as a viewer, and when I play these romhacks myself. The only thing I look at is certain bosses aces level, to keep myself from overleveling, thus ruining the whole meaning of playing harder pokemon games. Please take this into consideration Chizzy! Edit: as you describe in the video when slaying Nidoking, you killed it! Felt a lot more rewarding even just to watch, because you won by trial and error!

− The game forces level caps. − There are other difficulty modes of Radical Red, you know. I believe Hardcore was designed for the players to look at the trainer documentation. The AI knows your team and cheats.

I really enjoy radical red, even as a super casual pokemon player. I haven't played a main game after platinum so seeing all the new mons and stuff was really sick. The one gripe I have with RR is that gym leaders are no longer mono type :/. I get that it would make it quite easy to counter team which would be sort of counter intuitive for what RR is, but it for sure takes away from the game imo when gym trainers are just whatever team would be difficult to take on lol.

Hard counter to Kyurem: sdef nature lucky egg Sylveon. I ment to put a pixie plate on it but forgot to - it was freshly trained /just/ for that reshiram thing but hey, still worked. With draining kiss pixie plate/specs you should be even able yo switch in on it. Not sure cause i got a crit on DK so it was an easy live and Moonblast KO in the second turn. Or hyper voice? Same difference!

To beat Koga I would bring bulky Pokémon with decent attack. Speed is irrelevant in that battle. Not necessarily stall tactics, but beefy tactics

Misty Terrain is the only field that didn't boost moves of the same type, so Misty explosion was just Stab and It halves special defense. Its only effects are to decrease the power of dragon moves and to eliminate status conditions. All other fields, on the other hand, boost moves of the same type by 30%

aint gonna shame you for stalling chizzy. But i was thinking "why not use a TrickRoom-team ?" You just got the TM from Sabrina. And in the safari zone you can get the expanding-force TM. I think a Hatteren with Trick Room & expanding force with psychic seed Could help a lot against Koga.

Not gonna lie, my answer for Kyurem was literally Blissey. Dazzling Gleam + Softboiled hard counters it, but I don't think there's anything else you can do without running a berry on something.

How about either you go in and look at half of the opponents and leaving the other half unknown or you look at the pokemon but don't know there moves. That can potentially be a good balance

15:40 Actually Close Combat is stronger than surging strikes so it was even worse of a play if you think about it but you didn't get punished which matters 25:50 Also Misty Terrain doesn't power up Fairy type moves and Hatterene does get misty explosion

It's no fun when you go in blind, only to get whopped. I feel like the entire point of Radical Red is to build unique teams to counter all the new trainers. If you wanna go in blind, it would be more exciting if you could build a really well synergised team for yourself that can carry you through sequential battles. I LOVE THE CONTENT THOUGH.
