I recently filmed this and it is really cool to see a video of it when it was a lot newer! It still has old sita mudflaps currently which I thought was really cool, it also sounds just about the same as it does in this video. I also love the area this is filmed in! Great Work!

Awesome stuff! Sounds great too! Love how the motor gets ready for take off at 4:39. I still remember watching your first Kogarah Recycle video, these trucks were in top nick them but aged alot now! Awesome stuff!

+VictorianGarbo® Yep that's a sick sound when the gearbox goes between reverse and drive, almost like a rumbling tease before it revs up and powers ahead :D These trucks have done a lot of work since those original Kogarah videos, some still look alright but. SL42 has been going for just short of 8 years now along with the other 07 Rockdale originals.

Love your great story and description MitchellM15 - makes for interesting reading. Liam has lots of footage of SL42 near our unit in Arncliffe and has met Mick too, so he will enjoy reading and watching this when he is back from Callala Bay!

Nice shots Mitch and good operating Mick ! I like the early morning setting of this video and enjoyed watching the few lane way pickups. I see Kogarah has the weekly recycling setup for most apartments which is the right way to do it ! Is it just the one or two loads of weekly recycling on this particular Wednesday in Kogarah ? Mick very cheeky what you did at 12:15 I know some drivers who do that whenever theres a pile of cleanup/furniture/electricity box close to the bin they just place it on top as a photo competition between a few blokes in the yard :P Got to get out there and get SL42 and Mick on video soon :)

+AussieGarbo67 Early morning setting makes this video what it is, boring if it's daytime action, no fun at all ;) All three of the St George councils have weekly unit recycling, saves a heap of extra bins once a fortnight, also more capacity to recycle when it's done weekly. FYI both Hurstville and Rockdale even have twice a week garbage collection for the units! Mick squashes in two loads on this day, takes the first out of the CBD and the second comes out of the neighbouring residential area. He's not the only truck doing the recycle in the greens zone either, easily a couple of loads worth for another truck around Hurstville.

+MitchellM15 Sweet cheers for the info Mitch on the St George contract never knew all the units had weekly recycling thought it was just a few larger complexes, weekly recycle is the way it should be done across all councils :)

Were all of the St. George councils originally separate? and separately contracted to cleanaway?
@Ivecofan219 жыл бұрын
Hurstville and Kogarah were contracted to Cleanaway. Rockdale had Veolia.

+MegaDirtyHands Zac hammered the nail on the head. Each council transitioned into the regional contract well apart but - Rockdale started in January 2008, Kogarah started in November 2009 and Hurstville kicked off in July 2010. SL42 is one of the original Rockdale trucks along with SL41 in another upload, then the Kogarah units arrived (eg. SL65 and SL68 in other videos) and the rest came around once Hurstville commenced. Once all the councils were involved they rezoned all the service days (Rockdale Mon/Thu, Hurstville Tue/Fri, Kogarah Wed) and got all the trucks in a group to be utilised together on any given day.
