i have this foundation and it is legit the best one i own. ive had issues w foundations for as long as i can remember but this one looks very skinlike, you can really barely tell theres anything on your skin unless you cake up a ton of powder after. it's really thin but coverage packs a punch, kind of what nars all day luminous foundation aspires to be. i picked it up in japan for cheaper than $70 and it is the best beauty buy i've made all year.

This is my favorite foundation to date. I find that it works well with the Tatcha silk canvas primer but also works well without any primer so long as you use a good moisturizer. It also looks great both with and without a setting powder. However, as you recommended, samples are necessary sine the shade descriptions aren’t very clear.

I tired the old formula and hated it. I bought the moisture foundation in the red tube instead and loved it, although it was a bit heavy in warm weather. After the great reviews of the reformulated version, I bought the aqua foundation (the Sephora Rouge $20 off was a big help) and I could not be happier. Everything you said about it is 100% true, including that the KGD color base doesn’t do much. I have repurposed the yellow one I purchased as an under eye corrector. My application method is different from yours. I use two pumps, one to cover my nose, chin and forehead and a second to cover both cheeks down to the jaw and under. I apply it with a brush and then press it in with a sponge. Tomorrow I will try it layered as you did.

This morning I applied one pump just as Elle did and it was perfect. I didn’t bother with a second layer and just spot concealed, which I need to do anyway. And it looks better after seven hours than it did with two pumps. I am so thankful for Elle.

Thanks! I would love it if you sometimes (more often) show how much you are putting on. When you say "1 pump" or with eye-shadow, "load your brush"...I'm never certain if Im using too much or too little. I'd also love to see how you load different brushes with product....For example, if you are using a blending/crease eye-shadow brush, do you just put it on the tip of the brush or on the sides or deeper into the tip? I’ve seen this at Sephora but since I have oily combo skin not sure it would work out for me. The Lawless foundation claimed the same thing & it was awful on me! Way too dewy even with a primer. If I ever want to try this I’ll get a sample from Sephora first, especially at $70 a bottle. However it looks pretty on you 👍🏼♥️

Hi Elle! Love this foundation - this is what I am looking for. The Kosas causes breakouts on me. :( I will see if I can get a sample of this to try, but will definitely make the investment if it works. I like that I would NOT have to set it. Foundations look good, but when they have to be set - my texture shows through, even with the lightest of translucent powder. Great find! I love the entire look, especially the option of the Tatcha lip gloss. Have you tried the new color glosses from Burt's Bees? Nope, not kidding - they are lovely and NOT at all drying. Love the plaid blouse. Ciao bella!

This foundation feels so lightweight and lovely. It's not too dewy or too matte on me. It lasted all day which is a pleasant surprise because my nose is super oily.
