Thank you so much Elle. This is one of the best and most comprehensive explanations I have yet to come across on KZbin. No excess yacking and just getting down to the nitty gritty!! Great stuff.

Huge help! Thanks for the very detailed instructions for each layer and for the emphasis on techniques being the key not the product. It really did make me believe I can accomplish this with my existing stash and not fight to find a long wearing foundation that I won’t use much. I will be using this today for my daughters recital and tomorrow for a music festival!

I recently tried the Wayne Goss method of 'setting' the skincare. Taking a small amount a translucent powder after you put your skincare on AND then Primed and then put on foundation. When I say it's life changing, I mean it. You do everything from primer to finishing powder, changing nothing else. It makes sense too, you set your face when you're done, setting the skincare puts that barrier in between the skincare and makeup, so the oils won't go automatically into the foundation. This is GENIUS if you have oily skin. I have heard this tip for YEARS and recently tried it. I am slapping myself for it lol. Great tips too!!!! I use most of these too🤪

Elf Putty Primer (very, very similar to the Tatcha silk primer but more hydrating,) the Nyx grip primer (similar to Milk’s grip primer,) the Catrice Goodbye Pore (similar to Benefit Porefessional) Catrice Fresh Up (a lot like Smashbox primerizer) or Believe Pretty and Stay Put primer are all great primers that are more affordable options and as good if not the same as the higher end priced ones. I can’t imagine not wearing a primer beneath my foundation anymore. When you find the right one, it’s magic.
