I have just received a pack of 48 set of artists´ extra soft pastels and have already tried them on a simple drawing paper - the outcome exceeded my expectations in everything: enjoyable softness, finest prepared pigments for each colour stick which smoothly slide on a surface leaving rich velvety and slightly creamy strokes/lines/spots having lots of capacity for inter-smudging/blending, colors' intensity and their profound selection. By now on I am only looking forward on the next coming (I believe that would be producers' next move) collection of Dark's - those dark toned colous/hues which are vital for the creation of full embodied paintings each serious artist crave to have... My with soft pastels story began more than 30 years ago and during those years I enriched my experience with pastels of Rembrandt's and Sennelier's along with some other nice ones. The decision to give a try to the Koh-i-Noor Extra Soft ones came out of my deepest sympathy for their art graphite pencils ( I honestly think they are the best ones in the world) and recently obtained pastel pencils - logical enough, I suppose. The price was smiling and the quality greatly promising... By now on I do believe that the sky is only limit to all my creative outcomes since having all these three greatest in a World pastels in employ, seriously guys.

Great explanation of the basic steps. I only have a set of 12 Koh-i-Noor pastels but I like them a lot, the colour are vibrant and they blend well.

Who was this artist? She is fantastic. I absolutely love the range of pastel products made by Koh-i-noor. I don't know any other company that makes full range of pastels: semi hard pastels, soft pastels, extra soft pastels, pastel pencils.

I wanted to order the soft pastel box but I noticed there wasn't the ACMI seal on the box. Do the materials contain toxic ingredients or are they totally safe?

Hello. I enjoy your pastels since some years ago that I start to paint with this mediums. Recently I biught a box of Koh Hi nor dry soft pastels. But they loose so much dust that is not easy to work with them.. Even because I start to feel teh effects on respiratory sistem of the quimics on the dust. So I believe I have to send them back. The colors is nice. Coould be good, in the futur , that labels of dry pastel could fabric this mediuns no toxic. Thanks
