- Who knew koi were farmed in the mountains? The city Ojiya in Niigata gets completely frozen over in winter, but evidently koi are fine with that! These nishikigoi here in Niigata are apparently the original koi that all Japanese koi fish were bred from.

All baby fish are tiny. Think about it, they come from fish eggs.
@moonstonepearl21
@moonstonepearl21 6 жыл бұрын
It was super interesting to see them in all different stages of development. Those tiny ones were super cute. Since Koi are on the bigger side and you don't really see the babies in nature, you just don't really think about how they were once very small since like B R said, they have to come out of those little eggs.

OMG! It’s so weird that Jun said “Aw, I want a garden like this!” because the whole reason I found your channel was because it was recommended to me after watching a whole bunch of videos of people converting their yards into full on forest/ponds/river/self-sustaining plant and wildlife with cool bridges and stuff. Also a lot of videos of people making tiny little aquarium/waterfall/landscapes with real rocks and moss and plants and adding a misting effect and having tiny tiny fish in them. I remember watching Jun’s videos for the first time and thinking he would really like those hobbies too.

Ok, so you fall into the pond and turn into a koi. What happens next? I mean, are you the protagonist? The koi who can be turned back into a handsome prince if the beautiful and kind princess will feed you koi food while you gleefully suction her fingers? Or are you just a sort of narrator and maybe confidant or goad for the hero who gets the princess? I think as things develop you-qua-koi must learn an important and revealing lesson about yourself and how the world works. If you are the protagonist, good news, you will have to become human again but if you aren't the protagonist, perhaps you will remain a koi and find happiness in the pond. Maybe it would be best to start when you are already a koi, and tell your story in flashback, leaving the possibility of your retransformation for after the flashback ends. Either way, the incredible scenery at the end suggests a happy and even cathartic ending. I think about the old song over the closing credits, "...A fish won't do anything but swim in a brook He can't write his name or read a book..."

Koi are so beautiful! I loved seeing them in the rivers and ponds when I visited Japan, especially their bloopy mouths! 😁

We have lots of those pink and white flowers (cosmos) here in Ontario. I've never seen them growing wild that way, really made a beautiful display on the hillside. Enjoying your videos today. Wandered in to see more after watching Jun cooking with his cats. I used to walk my cat on a leash too.

I don’t know if this is exact, but I believe they named Haku after that fish because of his orange and white patterned fur!
