Koiai is producing phenomenal music. Kotono surprises with a lower register start in this track. The musicianship of all the band members is outstanding. We are lucky I think to witness Koiai blossoming into something really special.

Thanks for checking this out. They were my easy choice for new band of 2024. As another reviewer commented, "This band is just f****ing STACKED!" Incredible musicianship.

I've followed Lisa-x and Kanade since they were kids knowing their future looked bright. Little did I know they'd formed together with Hazuki & Kotono, and possibly Wakazaemon to this. They fill the void of a band I could greatly respect and love. I'm already hooked up with their cds, bluray and autographed photos, you could say making me a fan...

“Wakazaemon would be great, but already busy” Waka recently left East of Eden, so not as busy as people were initially expecting. I guess we will see what happens in the coming months. To me Blazing Heart came out well. The desert and lyrics go well with the red/orange lights that help bring the different parts of the screen together. The song also seems fitting for Kotono’s vocals-works in the feels department-while feels are actually necessary if they want to become big one day (it’s not just skill that makes fans). Anyway, seems like a good way to advertise more than just the game.

Apparently she's going on tour to South America with Marty Friedman in the summer - so I doubt she'll be available much for the rest of the year - but we can always hope 🤞

@alastairmcintyre4752 I like Waka, but if they could somehow magically get anyone they want, then I would rather have Juna Serita from Muse (Kanade stealing her other band member from Muse). Having both Kanade Sato and Juna Serita, and blending some of their jazz influences into Koiai, would be great to me.

@@SomethingToDo360 Don't disagree at all BUT JS is in the same position as Waka - because she's SO good there are not enough hours in the day what with The Jazz Avengers , a multitude of " solo " projects and also trying to learn how to play saxophone 🤷‍♂🤣 - so they might have look elsewhere if they want a permanent bassist ( unless Waka decides to join at a later date when her commitments are finished ) . Anyway - we'll see what happens - to be continued

@@alastairmcintyre4752 I’m aware of all of this, which is why I used “somehow magically” and “stealing”, and was pointing more to the blending in of jazz influences as preferable. Having said that, Waka left East of Eden because nothing is actually certain here; people will go where they want for reasons we don’t even know of.

Would like to see if Hazuki could talk fellow bassist Haraguchi-san from Nemophila to join or special guest with KOIAI. That way KOIAI could open for Nemophila.

This song is a promotion for a game software by a famous game company. I'm surprised that KOIAI and a big game company are connected. There are two vocalists in this song. Kotono and Kanade. I feel like KOIAI's characteristics come out.

*Trouble is a brewing. * If KOIAI does get a big push & goes world wide. What would that do with Hazuki?? Where will her allegiance be?? KOIAI, where the band is not tied down to a certain genre of rock. Or Nemophila, where they're a metalcore band. We'll see when that time comes.

At first I thought you were attempting to instigate something here (like by “trouble is a brewing”), but I don’t think you meant anything bad by it. Based on your other posts, you seem to think Hazuki has to choose between the two bands, or get burned out. For Koiai anyway, Hazuki is not working as hard; the songwriting and crazy solos are mostly carried by Li-sa-X. If one of the two bands ever gets big, it will ultimately promote the other band too (by association), which is likely their intent. For example, Koiai actually benefits currently by association to Nemophila (through Hazuki). I agree with your comments on Li-sa-X and Hazuki meshing very well together. They seem very close.

I think it will be a long time before Hazuki is torn between KOIAI and Nemophila. For Japanese bands to be successful in live performances, the members need to acquire the ability to aggressively control the audience. It will be 5 years before they become like LOVEBITES or BAND-MAID. First of all, they need to write songs that can draw 1000 people.

@@主水-p5b On music streaming services, Band-Maid is 6x bigger than Lovebites. In fact, Nemophila used to be 2x bigger than Lovebites, but have been losing ground since Saki left. So why so many Lovebites views on reaction videos? Well because the enjoyment Lovebites fans receive from the band, is primarily from the enjoyment reactors receive through being impressed by the difficult things they play, but to become big (like on music streaming services), people have to like the music apart from reactors being impressed (has to reach them more emotionally). Yet the music is being written to impress reactors, because the reactors are currently sustaining Lovebites. It’s a complex issue. As for Koiai, we shall see anyway. I can say they doubled their listeners on streaming services in the last month. I guess we will know the rest in time.

@@SomethingToDo360 Since Japan placed importance on music education from the public basic education stage onwards, the music scene in Japan was full of instrumentalists, live performances were popular and there were many live venues. When CDs stopped selling, professional musicians tended to focus on live performances rather than shifting to streaming. So music developed as something to watch rather than listen to. That's why it's compatible with KZbin. On a deeper level, our Japanese culture is a visual culture. Because of our use of Chinese characters, our visual culture has developed to a very high level.

@@主水-p5b I’m a fan of Lovebites, and am explaining why their fans (the Wolfpack) prefer reaction videos over both non-reaction videos and streaming music services. Also the numbers for just the music streaming services are gigantic here. For example, BabyMetal has 3,218,896 UNIQUE monthly listeners on a single music streaming platform.
