@@davecrupel2817 You are misinformed and incorrect: The normal operational ceiling of the Chinook (especially when practically empty, with just a few people on board) is 20k feet. How do you think the US military ferried cargo and troops to 15k-20k+ foot mountaintops in Afghanistan for ~15 years? Someone landed a Eurocopter AS350 Squirrel at the top of Mt. Everest all the way back in 2005 - not cutting edge technology in 2024, to be sure. Daaang that's hard with a normal heli let alone a more difficult to fly chinook.

Chinook was designed specifically to land like that.

Chinook pilots and crew chiefs are laughing at this video. These types of landings are actually very common and the Chinook was designed specifically for this landing.

I have seen both French and Swiss mountain rescue helicopters doing similar manoeuvres in the Alps. Very impressive flying from them all!
@penguinista3 жыл бұрын
Always very impressive, but I have never seen it in a gigantic, dual rotor chopper before. That is not like flying a high power single rotor. This is like weaving through traffic driving a semi truck if a doing the same trick in a dual engine NOTAR is like driving an ambulance.
